I've had two miscarriages, both at 6 weeks (will be 9 weeks tomorrow). I'm a single mom, and we got bombarded with about 25cm of snow in the last 36 hours. I just shovelled my driveway, but now I'm worried I should not have.

Is shovelling in the first trimester safe, or should I hire a neighbourhood kid?

I would say yes. I just shoveled the driveway from the same storm that hit here too, over a foot! Your body will tell you when you've had enough. Exercise where you can still talk and don't be afraid to take breaks. Some days I feel I can run a considerable distance, other days walking up the stairs is effort. As much as my pride hates it, I try not to push myself like I did prepregnancy. The heart pumping and exercise is soooo good unless recommended otherwise by your doctor/mw.

But if you have funds to pay a neighbor, and it would save stress by all means, do that!

I felt okay while I shovelled, but now that I'm done and sitting and relaxing, I feel very crampy.
