Hey ladies,

My DS is 4 months and is taking between 6-7oz every feed, but for hours after he will bring up little bits of milk, sometimes it will be just the once but theres quite alot of it (or it seems to be alot)... he will do one or two big burps, then with every little burp, thats when he is sick :( .
I'm getting abit tired of it now, i'll dress him with clean clothes in the morning, and within minutes he has been sick on it...if I changed after everytime he was sick then i'd be up to my neck in washing (not that i'm not already :laundry::hangwashing::laundry::hangwashing: :coffee:)

Is anyone else's LO like this, or do you know when it will stop? My DD was rarely sick after feeds....

Esmé is the same. It looks almost like small bits of cottage cheese. I was worried about it when she first started doing it, and I was told it;s just bits of undigested milk coming back up. My LO is on hungry baby, so I think it's partly to do with that expanding maybe?

I feel you on the washing situation, my washing line is constantly full! x

my LO was the same. I spoke to my HV and she recommended baby gaviscon to put in with his bottles. I started it last week and it seems to have improved a lot as he has spewed very little this week, however his poos are a lot thicker than usual...

hth

Omar is the same, has been since forever :D I bought loads of grow suits & vests for day use at home as I change for him 3-4 times a day.

Omar has reflux, so this spitting & is normal. He's taking anti-reflux formula.

We were told to use gaviscon, but like mrs mcgrath the poos were thicker so we moved onto SMA Staydown which has been amazing.

I had same with my LO and after about a week of it I took him to HV and she referred to docs and turns out he had reflux. Was prescirbed gaviscon which did help but the is also another type which is easier to mix with the milk but can't think what it is called at moment. My LO had this til he was about 1, which I was told would be about the right time due to the fact that once they start crawling and walking it builds there muscles up most of the time it will stop. Might be worth a check at the docs just to see if there is anything they can give you to thicken the milk. Goosd Luck.

Thanks all, never thought that it could be anything like Reflux because I thought that was like projectile vomit? Should I talk to my HV or am I better to go straight to the Docs?

x

Go straight to the docs, the HV wont be able to prescribe anything

My LO was doing the same, i reduced the amount of milk by an ounce and he stopped doing it straight away and he still goes 4 hours in between bottles so I was giving him too much

Well I just rang HV for advice anyway and shes said because he isnt loosing weight they wont prescribe him Gaviscon? I've just gave him his bottle and he stopped after 3oz, winded him and he brought up a few burps, then just as I was about to lie him back down and give him the other 3oz, he was sick alot....so its not as if hes over eating? I really don't know what it is if its not reflux, but surely it isnt right and the poor little man can't like it either....gonna ring the doctors on Monday and try get him an appt

Is he drinking it too fast and getting the air trapped bringing milk up with little bits of wind?

What milk are you using?
