Sick Baby & Ready to Feed?

Hey girls. My LO has been exclusively formula fed since 6 months old. She is on Similac for Fussiness & Gas (the orange container). She used to drink the ready to feed, but we switched gradually to the powder for cost reasons. She got used to powder, but never seemed to do as well on it as she did on the ready to feed (more constipated, gas, etc.).

Anyway, to make this long story short, DH and I found two full boxes of cartons of ready to feed in our basement recently that we had neglected to use before our switch to powder. We were thrilled and decide to switch her back since she will only be on formula for a few more months. I started giving it to her over the weekend and she also seemed to prefer the taste, so all was well. But she then started randomly vomitting this week as well. I'm thinking it's likely just a tummy bug, as she goes to daycare and it's winter and everyone is sick here. But I'm worried it's the formula.

Is this possible? I did a quick search online and found that some babies are difficulty switching from ready to feed to powder, but I didn't see many instances of trouble going the opposite way.

Unless the formula is out of date its more likely a coincidence.

My first son was on RTF as well (he didn't do well on powdered, he spit up more and had lots more gas). I wouldn't think that the RTF would make her vomit, it tends to be thicker than the prepared powdered and should stay down better. I would guess it is a coincidence, but only time will tell.

Oh we are using the RTF Similac Gas &Fussiness this time around, but only for filler bottles when he doesn't get EBM. I find that this brand is the easiest on his tummy :)

Totally agree, that brand is great! Charlotte is a refluxer and has always had digestive issues, but this formula seems to sit the best with her.

It seems the vomitting was not from the formula - dad and I have it now too, yuck! Glad to know it will pass though :)

bummer! hope you guys are better today. ready to feed always causes hadley problems.....too heavy for her i think.
