So since day 1, I've EP. LO never could latch and I had to return to work. But. As long as he got my milk....I was ok with it. From day 1 to few days ago, I pumped 60-80 oz a day. I've been weening down to make it so I can sleep thru the night.

Enter few days ago. I noticed my left breast was a little red and sore....and only 4 oz came out. I'm normally 8oz. I've been massaging, heat pads, hydrating, pumping every 2 hours.....but today I've only pumped 36 oz. That's a far cry from what's my "normal."

Fyi....I'm 9 months PP with no AFM and on the minipill

Thoughts?

Because your breasts usually make do much milk, I can imagine that trying to cut down on pumping could easily cause a blockage. Your doing everything I'd think of as normal to drain a blockage so just keep an eye out for fluey symptoms. I hope someone else on here can give you more wise words.

Thanks. This morning I got "normal" for me amount out of both. 4 hours later, back to less than normal. It's not painful to pump, just hurts to the touch on the side. I'll keep at it. I'm trying to drink like a fish too.
