Signs of 4 month growth spurt/nightmare?

Oh no, think I've just realised what's wrong with my lo!!! 3 nights in a row now she's fed at 10.30 then 1, 3 and is up for the day at 5! She was sleeping from 10.30 until 4, quick feed then back down until 6.30. I'm tired!!!

I feed her when she wakes even though she doesn't seem hungry. I've tried leaving her but she shouts really loudly, I don't want her waking my toddler in the next room, then we'd all be grumpy the next day!!!!!

Xx

How was everyone's nights? Ours went like this..

7pm - bath
7:20pm - bedroom for BF before bed
8:20pm - finally in bed!
11:40pm - feed
11:55pm - asleep again
1:55am - feed
2:10am - asleep again
3:55am - feed
4:15am - asleep again
6:40am - feed
6:50am - asleep again
8am - up for the day

I can't really complain I guess, though she was up more than I have been used to!!

Ugh our night was rubbish!

LO was tired at 6pm so instead of trying to get her to nap and then be ready for bed at 7, I put decided to put her to bed.
So:
6:15pm - Pjs, into swaddlepod and breastfed

6.35pm - Asleep in bed

7.05pm - AWAKE! So obviously thought it was a nap, which only seem to last 30 minutes.

7.40pm - Asleep again.

8.05pm - Awake and hungry. So I fed her. She usually only has one boob and falls back to sleep quickly. Last night it took both boobs and she was still flapping around and whinging.

9.10pm - Finally asleep again.

Then I have no idea when she woke up momentarily for a feed (she does it half asleep as we co-sleep) - probably 1, 4 and 7ish. Then napped again until 9.30 and was up for the day.

Last night was the best for the past two weeks, although he has taken to having a nap at 8pm...and i think he down for the night but wakes up 20 min later ready to go again...so finally got him to sleep at 10.30 and he slept through until 5...so cant complain to much...but poor thing got a cold!

but still being horrficly fussy with food and naps!

We're hitting the stormy part now. Just as LO was STTN, he's now up every 2 hours to feed. Sleep regression is here.

I have no freaking idea what my LO is playing at these days. It's like she's had a personality transplant. She used to be super smiley but I can go for almost a whole day with nothing except evil demon child noises. It's like she catches herself as she's just about to smile and then goes, oh no, wait, can't blow my cover! and then screetches to the high heavens.

My husband thought it was teething but I'm not convinced. We're getting a Jumperoo solely so I can have something upright to put her in so I can walk away for 30 seconds. Terrible reason, I know!

She screamed bloody murder during her 6pm bath yesterday, then didn't settle til 8pm. Having said that, she slept from about 8pm to 5.45am- bloody hell where did that come from? Probably from taking no naps and working full-time at misery-making.

My LO has been doing the high pitched screeching for the past week. I was convinced it was just because she did it once and then realised she could make a funny noise and carried on. But now it sounds as though she's frustrated!
I don't get it, she's clean, full and has just woken up and was playing...she's still doing it!

TOOOOTTTTTAAALLLLLLY the same. I keep saying 'Knock it on the head, there's nothing wrong with you!'.

Uh the high pitched screaming/shouting is constant! Ate more today than previous days but wasn't that great last night :-(

And so it begins again. 6:45pm, currently asleep in her mei tai (seems to be the only way to get her to sleep at the moment).

When she wakes, it's bath time, boob time, then bedtime. I'm dreading it!

I'm here alone tonight too 'cos OH is away for two nights, I know that's not much for some ladies whos husbands are in the forces or work away, but for me it's unusual and I'm really not used to it. No backup = one stressed Mummy.

Thankfully we don't have the high pitched screaming/whining yet (well on occasion, but not constant) she's found that she can do a high pitched squeal when happy but I don't mind that so much!

I think teething may have a hand in it for all of us unfortunately. I've dosed my LO with two lots of Teetha today. She seems to like it, sort of looks interested and starts munching with her lips!

We missed a nap between 4 and 6pm but LO didn't seem too tired or grumpy.
Bedtime started well at 7 but she didn't have much boob. Went to bed easily, but woke up 20 minutes later and is now fighting sleep - no crying (yet) just won't shut her eyes.

I have no idea what it is for us!

I'm glad it's not only my LO who's suddenly changed over the last 5 days!

We also have the screeching/shouting thing going on, and have gone from waking once n the night to waking hourly :(

Tho he's not really waking properly, he just waves his arms and legs around while whining in his sleep, this whining then often turns into crying. I just go into him and just place my hand on his chest which settles him back down for another hour....

This is worst than when he was newborn, I hope it passes soon!

Well, bath-time wasn't bad and it took both boobs, but she went down at 8:20pm and apart from deciding to sleep on her side (I've posted another thread about that!) she's still asleep now. I might get myself ready for bed and then when she wakes I'll just go and join her in the bedroom for the night.

Ugh. Well its 4am here and lo is awake enough to be trying to talk to me. Go back to sleep little lady!

OMG the same thing happened to me too!
I fed her and then she decided to chat to me for about an hour before getting frustrated and needing help to go to sleep!

Edit - she also decided that midnight was the best time to show me her new rolling skills. I put her to sleep on her back, and when I came to bed and she had shuffled across to my side of the bed and was on her side. I woke up an hour later and she was right next to me, on her tummy. Still fast asleep!

Awww ladies i think my LO is having 4 month sleep regression, following her 3 month growth spurt for a week and im shattered! Shes be doin so well with her sleep and went 12 hours 2 nights ago and now the past 2 nights have been awful! She keeps waking up every hour from 12 oclock crying and screaming, its as if she has soundly found her voice! Shes not really awake as her eyes are shut! Its bizarre! She is flinging herself all over her cot, arms and legs in the air and shouting, screaming and crying! I manage too settle her then 45 mins to an hour later she starts again! She is also starting too shout a lot during the day too get my attention! How long is this gona go on for? Ive just had an awful week with her growth spurt then she went great and now back too square one!

How have everyone else's LO's been? xx

My LO was up every 2 hours last night but thankfully went back to sleep easily.

We've already had lots of screeching this morning!
I dont get it, yesterday we went to a baby group and she didn't screech at all, missed a nap and a feed but was still fine.
The moment I got her home all hell breaks loose and she starts screeching again!
I don't know if its boredom but I'm running out of toys/way to entertain her!

I same with the screeching and my LO, she was quiet as a mouse at my mams yesterday then as soon as we home and i leave the room shes at it again! I just dont know! The night before she had a really high pitched scream going on aswell, not heard it since but i know its there! Eeeeekkk! Just hoping she settles more tonight as she at her grandparents for night this weekend and i think it will drive then too despair!:nope:

I think around this time there little brains go into overload and thats what im thinking it is with Poppy, its just a case off waiting it out until they get use too the new changes happening too them...bloody hard work though! This didnt seem too happen with any of my friends kids, just my LO! So glad this thread is going so i know its quite normal xx

8oz bottles aren't satisfying my LO this week! She's waking every night stuffed into the corner of the cot banging her head! Won't settle when I move her back! Shouting, squealing and screaming most of day. Screeched the doctors surgery down yesterday for attention. Gah.

We're still battling through this at the moment. Had a lovely day out today though which went really well. She even settled to sleep without any intervention from me in her pram twice which was great. I think it helped that I've put it into pushchair mode already so she was sitting up and looking around when she was awake so she wasn't so frustrated when she got sleepy.

Bedtime was still a bit of a battle. But after her bath it took an hour to settle her. So not too bad really.

The past few nights she's been awake every 2 hours but not for long. But it's so draining even then! We've had two nights where she has decided it's morning time way before it actually is!

Thankfully (and I'm touching wood here) we haven't yet had any screeching type behaviour. She cries more, especially when feeding, but screeching - nope, not yet! Fingers crossed it'll stay like it!
