Signs of 4 month growth spurt/nightmare?

As it goes on due date not birth date, thursday (17 weeks) should be the worst for us!

Why not try her in her own room tonight and see how you get on.

Yeah, as LO was 2 weeks late, we should effectively be at the 19 week mark and therefore coming out of this. But I'm not seeing any signs so far! lol!! Typical that my LO doesn't follow the rules! I wonder if she is just having the spurts at the "normal" time going by her birth date instead of due date just to be different!

I'm tempted, but her cot is full of stuff at the moment (being used as storage temporarily!).. such a hard decision. Plus I'll miss her :(

Haha yep I've told OH that shes not moving out of our room as i'll miss her!

Still continuing with the fussy feeding here and she won't nap for more than 40 mins. Grrr. Really think her teeth are bothering her too :-(

I dont dare move -LO has been asleep for 2.5 hours but only on me.
Last time this happened we had a crap night, but hopefully it wont be as bad as last night.

So much for sleep promotes sleep!

I would defo say that the day LO hit 17 weeks was probably our worst day as in napoing and sleeping as i think she had about a 30 min nap that day then i think i counted 25 minutes sleep for me that night! She has gradually got better from 17+2 weeks too now, so i agree with 17 weeks being the worst time! I dont think there is much longer too go girls and your LO's will be sleeping normally again, hang on in there chicks xx

LO is 17 weeks today... can't wait until tonight then :(

Awww nooo, didnt mean too worry you hun! Hey Your LO might surprise you tonight and STTN! Who knows but i know Poppy defo got better after 17 week mark xx

lol!! Its fine! You've not worried me really. I'm just looking forward to the next few days because one way or another things will improve soon. We're either at the 17 or 19 week mark depending on birth or due date so either way we're on the downward slope now :)

Good luck!

Just got Quinn down - for how long, I don't know!
I think there must be some teething going on, as she keeps gripping my nipple and pulling away with it, then gets really frustrated and unlatches!
Its so annoying.

The whole regression and due date thing really frightens me. As you may know my Dom has been a nightmare for the last 2 weeks, waking every hour through the night and sometimes more. I thought it was the 4 month regression but if it goes by due date then it cannot be as the boys were born at 37 weeks. This then means that in 2 weeks we are due the regression. But then, can it actually get worse?! I suppose worse would be if Sebastian would start sleeping badly too. Oh my gosh how dreadful would it be if he started waking every hour too but not at the same time as Dom? Shoot me! Shoot me now! lol

Wishing_Well - Tell me about it. I think of the whole thing, it's the feeding thing which is the worst for me really. The constant wake-ups at night I can cope with, 'cos she feeds fine then. But during the day, that constant, unlatching, crying, me shushing her, switching her position, latch on, 2 or 3 sucks, unlatch, crying... ARGH!!! Then again, I don't think it is anything to do with the 4 month thing here - pretty sure as you say it's due to teething. Which means this could go on for months yet. Is it too early for solids?! lol! (not serious really... well, not much)

Fingers crossed for you that Quinn sleeps well for Mummy tonight. I've put Francesca down in our room as normal tonight and I can hear on the monitor that she's constantly wriggling around. I foresee another long night for me :( I will perhaps sort out her room this weekend and think about moving her in there sometime soon.

AngelUK - hugs! I really admire all of you Mummy's with multiple babies. I know that sometimes it's a case of you only know what you know and that if you've only ever dealt with two (or more!!!) at once then it's normal for you. But I look at Francesca sometimes and much as I love the bones of her, I just can't imagine how much hard work it must be looking after two! Especially at times like this. I really hope for your sake that when the 4 month regression hits you (if it does.. it doesn't affect them all!) that your boys sail through it and that little Dominic starts sleeping better for you (love your boys names by the way :))

How was Francesca last night?

After I posted, Quinn woke up (after an hours sleep) had a feed and then took 30 minutes to settle again. She then woke every 2 hours pretty much on the dot to feed! Much better than the night before.

Not bad for us either. Much less fidgety. She went down at 8:15pm and slept until we were getting ready for bed at 11:15pm when she had a feed.

She then woke 1:30, 3:45, 5:45, 7:45 so not too bad. I tried leaving her at each stirring, but I could hear her smacking her lips and she got more and more fussy the longer I left her, so glad I didn't put her in her own room after all those 3 middle of the night feeds were quick 10-15min affairs would've been a lot worse in her own room

I'm glad Quinn had a good night too! I won't jinx things by saying perhaps the end is in sight... a day at a time I think!

Good for you ladies :) My longest stretch of sleep last night was 1 hour and a half yet again, from 12:30 to 2am and then I was up every hour again. Sigh.

I am definitely going through this with my LO - he was born 8 weeks prem so that means he is right back at the beginning stages of the 4 month regression.

I need hugs today ladies. LO has seriously tried my patience today with her feeding crap. I know they can pick up on bad vibes and I've seriously had to count to 10 several times. I've left her screaming a couple of times because I needed to get away from her. Good god she's driving me mental!

I have noticed though that she has little white dots all over her top gums now. A few weeks ago (probably around 10 weeks old) I noticed one big white dot and showed it to my dentist as I was there for a checkup and he suggested it could be a tooth, but now with these dots all over, I wonder if it's thrush or something which makes me feel bloody awful.

I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow so will ask him then if he'll look. I tried to take a photo, but LO was having none of it!

She took almost 2 hours to settle tonight and I'm on tenterhooks 'cos I bet she'll be awake again soon. It's like she knows that if she plays up tonight Mummy's really getting to the end of her tether. Little madam certainly knows how to push my buttons today.

Siuan :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: ! I sooo know how you are feeling! I adore my Dom but man can he test my patience!
Hope it isn't thrush, poor lil baby! But maybe if it is it could explain her restlessness? Still, I am sure we all would rather have a restless baby than one with any sort of illness even if it is just thrush. So have some more :hugs: :hugs:

I hope it's not thrush too it seems so wrong, dirty almost if it's thrush - I mean that's a genital disease it seems sooo bad that it could be oral too, makes me feel dirty. I can't find pictures to compare online so who knows. But I know it can make them uncomfortable when feeding.

ARGH!! I just want to scream today! I love her to bits and even after going back into the bedroom to rock her to sleep (which she hardly EVER needs of an evening) I got a huge rush of love for her when I was looking down at her chubby chops. But she has just been a nightmare today.

Thank you for the hugs :)
