Silver Cross Surf

says on the silvercross site that it has a baby nest for newborns, and you dont have to have a matching car seat  i bought a babystyle prestige pram and a different car seat altogether as i only ever use the car seat in the car - i guess it depends how much you want to use it really, i wanted to get maximum use out of my pram which is why i felt it would be a waste if i kept her in the car seat all the time

Hi everyone,
It's hard work finding a pram isn't it?
I have been wondering about the baby nest, do you think it would fit in any other prams? I am interested in the Surf and the Jane Rider, but the Rider doesn't have a baby nest.
I think a lot of these prams are from birth, but aren't really supportive enough just using the pram seat, which is why the baby nest seems such a good idea.
Would you say the nest would fit into a different pram?
I'm also not keen on the Silver Cross car seat, does anyone know if it has a Which review?
I was hoping to get the Jane Strata because it is practically lie-flat for a newborn. Apparently, you aren't supposed to leave a newborn in a car seat for more than two hours because it can cause problems with their breathing. If we went with the Surf, we would definitely be leaving the car seat in the car, so it doesn't matter about the base for us.
Has anyone tried a newborn with the baby nest in the pram seat?
We have until February to decide so quite a few of the issues with the seat and basket should be sorted by then - well, so they say. :o)))

Hope I'm not too late in replying to your thread. The surf is an excellent pram/pyshchair!! I work in a very well known nation wide retailers and have to keep up to speed regarding pushchairs! This is the one I've decided to go with, usually by now with a new design pushchair there are many faults brought to light by now but can honestly say repair/fault returns have been very minimal on this product-ones that I do know of have been due lack of knowledge in how to fold the pushchair, not a manufacturing fault-it's customer error :-/. The surf takes the venturer car seat and also the maxi cosi cabrio/pebble. adaptors have to be bought seperately for around £30 should you prefer maxi cosi. Like I say, fantastic pushchair and well designed-2 years in production has been worth it's wait. Hope some of this info was helpful to you! Happy baby shopping! :-D
