I am about to lose it. Before getting pregnant I would get ear congestion (that feeling in your ear where you can't hear anything but your own breathing and it is extremely annoying!) and my dr would tell me to take nasonex nasal spray for a few days and it would help the swelling in my ear. I keep reading online that it's a category c drug, so what can I take? I am so annoyed I want to scream. I just want to hear out of my ear :(

Urgh I've got this too and have had horrid sinus probs. For the sinuses I've been using sterimar nasal spray which is an over the counter salt water spray. Its worked really well! My ears are really annoying me now so I'd like to hear any tips for this too! Xxxx

My doctor said I could still take my nasal apart for my sinuses, as my sinuses and ear blocking gets really severe, I use it sparingly and only when needed but it hasn't harmed the baby and the doctor assured me it would be safe. Perhaps see if there's a different type they can give you?

Yeah the salt nasal spray works really well. When I was using it I also had a sore throat and it helped get rid of it. Give it a go. Its a lot less harsh then the other ones and your less likely to get a rebound infection.

How about a netti pot??? I swear by this when pregnant for everything from common cold, sinus infection, flu.

Saline sprays and rinses are safe. My OB recently prescribed me an anti-nausea medicine that is a B6 supplement and an anti-histamine. It's really helping with my sinuses, but only so-so on my nausea. It's called Diclegis.
