hiya have any of you had a sinus infection had antibiotics and still getting the pain? i finished my last 1 this morning and the pain is still there what could this be ive had mucus down the back of my throat my ear and face feels clogged in the mirning! and the pain continues throughout the day worsens wen bending etc.... cant stick this anymore

I have. It's lasted for 6 months now. The pain is so severe some nights from the pressure headaches that I won't sleep more than an hour or two. It's only on my right side...! These last two nights I've slept on an ice pack!! I've scheduled an appointment with an ENT, but he's not coming to town till the end of January! Thus far, it's been a complete mystery to all other doctors. And a major pain in the ass!!
If you figure it out, let me know!

what have the doctors done so far with u? how many antibiotics ave u had?
so glad im not the only 1 ...6 months WOW ive been like this for about 2 with headaches most of the time and the night times are the worst! my face hurts.my nose between my eyes hurt and my cheek bones are so tender to touch ubove my jaw...im fed up looks like another trip to the doctors again!!

i will let u kno, but i doubt i will get to the bottom of it?!? X

Ayyee.. the doctors have prescribed 3 rounds of antibiotics in this last "episode." I call them episodes because they flare up REALLY bad into full on infections and between infections I just get serious pressure headaches and a right stuffed nostril. The problem is it's not really all that great to take so many antibiotics because the virus grows immune.

And night times are the worst for me too! I'm fine throughout the day (usually), but the headaches ALWAYS flare up between 4-7pm...which I think is really strange. Doesn't matter where I'm at, home or work.. it'll always start at that time! It gets progressively worse throughout the night too

My right ear gets infected too. My eustachian tube I think is permanently broken! I haven't been able to pop my right ear ONCE for the last six months

The general doctors are at a complete loss. They can't prescribe me any antibiotics now because there is no sign of infection despite the sinus pressure and ear pain. The last doctor suggested I have an MRI scan done after I'm done with my pregnancy. So in them meantime I'm waiting to see the Ears/Nose/Throat specialist...at the end of January!!! Arghh!

I've Googled this issue that you and I have and it seems everyone is in the dark including their doctors. Some say they've dealt with it for YEARS!

Oh, I'll also mention one of my doctors suggested one reason an antibiotic may not work is if the infection is viral (not bacterial). In that care, you have to wait for your body to naturally kill it off, which could take weeks.

I'm convinced I'm past that point of viral infection, though. I'm wondering whether or not the repeated infections have permanently scarred and damaged my ear/sinus tract, causing pressure build up. Or something of that sort!!

oh it could be viral then im exactly the same with the headaches they come on in the evening and get worse ...yesterday i had pain around my eyebrows and bridge of my nose (inner eyes) i have had ear pain ...the doctor looked in my throat and ears etc and could see nothng but still prescribed me antibiotics because it sounded like and infection...my nose doesnt feel blocked but i can feel the mucus in my throat ikwim? i hope this does pass on its own....i feel your pain i hope they can sort u out its not nice! xx

I have fluid behind the eardrum and its been ongoing for 4 months now, I hope it eventually passes for all of US and this all started with a bad chest infection
