Hey, Just wondered around what age did your LO sit up unaided? And is there anything i can do to help Tye learn to sit up?

Can't really remember :dohh:

I think it was between 5 and 6 months?

we use to surround maddi with pillows, and the bumbo used to help loads, maddi sat unaided at 7months x

Colton sat unaided for a couple of minutes around 6 months. That was with falling over when he tried to reach for anything, etc. And he couldn't sit himself up, I always had too. :D

Tye has a bumbo but he doesnt seem to like it! I sit him up with pillows and also sit him up and just hold his hands and arms but hes very wobbly! I guess he will learn soon in his own time, hes only 5months but just wondered :D

riley started sitting up around 4 and a half months wouldnt leave him though cause after 10 mins or so he owuld topple not to sure roughly how old when i was happy with leaving him

Kathryn is close, she can sit up by herself but her balance isn't quite there. She can sit for a while so long as she doesn't lean over to the side to grab something. I just put pillows on either side and behind her and give her something to hold so that she doesn't try to reach for things. Just try holding them in a sitting position, sit them in the bumboo (though Kathryn doesn't much like hers) or in a high chair (Kathryn loves sitting in her high chair and it reclines so it's great!). They will sit up eventually, when they are ready and really want to they will.

Alexa could sit up alone at 4 months with pillows, and at 6 months unaided... All babies are different though!

Daisy is just getting the hang of it now, I sit with her on my bed and surround her with pillows so it was a soft landing if she toppled!

Also sat her on the livingroom floor with all the cushions off our sofas around her and put toys between her feet so she was concentrating on them instead of trying to look behind her (and toppling over!)

Jacob has been sitting unaided since about 4 months, but then it was only for about 3-5mins a go now he can sit for about 20mins but i never leave him alone or on a hard floor as im scared he will topple as sometimes he still does when he gets exicted :dohh: XxX

Thanks Miss J! This was a question I was wondering myself.

Aw he's so clever!

elliot can't sit alone properly yet, only few seconds at a time. Although he is getting loads better every day.

keely.

Sam sat unaided at 7 months. He was still a bit wobbly then sometimes though! He used to sit in his bumbo when he was watching me do housework etc. which seemed to make him want to sit up all the time - or we'd support him with pillows x

ellie just falls forward so her nose is nearly on the floor after a few mins so i have to sit behind her still. Benn how ever was about 5months when he was sitting up i used to put a big v pillow behind him just incase he fell. I think im in for a long wait before Ellies ready to sit up.

Around 6 months, we had a bumbo and he used to sit with his bomerang pillow alot :)

My youngest Liam was sitting really well on his own at about 7 1/2 months and my daughter was by about 6 1/2 months. I think the only thing you can do is to encourage him to use his own strengh by proPping him up alot with cushions etc. I think the bouncy chairs and the bumbo's are pants to be honest- both jessica and liam hated them ;)
Life becomes a little easier when they can sit up on their own and they dont get as frustrated etc ;)

Jasmine sits up in a feeding pillow... She can almost do it on her own but I feel safer with the pillow around her haha.
