Welcome! Why don't we each make our first post our intro/short story to get to know one another.

Hi all,

My name is Brooke and Im 26 from Ontario, Canada! My dh is 25 and we have been ttc #1 since coming off bcp in december.. Officially started trying in january 2014.

I have relatively short cycles 21-28 days with very little cm. My lp was quite short being only 8 days. I tried taking omega 369 along with b6 which did help to increase my cm and also lengthened my lp to 11 days. This cycle I said screw it all and stopped taking it. So far O came late and I guess it is wait and see how it affects my lp.

Being in Canada, you have to wait 12 months to be referred to a specialist. I luckily convinced my dr at. 7 months just to find out that there is an 8 month wait list to even get a phone call to book an appointment. Fortunately my mom knew the secretary at the clinic and she booked me an appointment only two months out.. So I have that on August 22.

I have gone for one us already which came back telling me I had cysts on both ovaries, and fluid in my tubes which was likely remnant of a recent burst cyst. This was confusing to me because my dr really couldnt tell me what that meant. She said I could be ovulating from both sides which is what she thought.. Or it could be indicator of endometriosis or pcos. I go back on august 14 for a second us to see if anything has changed.

Dh was referred for a sa which we are going to another town to do on the 11th. Hes really hesitant about getting it done. He really wants a baby but he doesnt want to know anything medical about it. It took a month of fighting to force him to go.

But we will have the us and sa results back before our specialist appt on the 22nd.. And that is where I am currently at!

Wow that got a lot longer then I thought it would!

Hey everyone :)

My name is Sophia and I'm 28. DH is 27 and we're TTC #1 since July haha. We still haven't had a full cycle, so this is cycle #1 for us!

I was on birth control for 9 years and had my last active pill in December. I've been charting ever since and getting to know my body. I've learned that I have long, irregular cycles, which is probably because of the birth control. I have my annual on Wednesday, so I'll be asking my MW what I can do to help regulate my cycles, as well as asking about vitex and if she thinks it's a good option for me.

I am currently either 5DPO (according to FF right now) or 3DPO (which I believe is more likely due to my temperature rise) and excited to be in my first TWW.

DH and I are in the process of buying our first home, so we hope to be moved in by Christmas. I really really hope I'm pregnant when we're moving so I don't have to help with boxes haha :)

I'm hoping this group will bring lots of baby dust to all of us and we'll all have our BFPs in no time!

Hi! I'm Mint and I guess I am the oldest one here. I am 33 and DH is 32 - we have been married almost 4 years and together almost 9. We have a big dog named Lexi.

In case you were wondering about my name - my parents were gigantic hippies.

I just finished my Masters in May (in Disability Studies) which is why we were WTT.
I teach students with Autism Spectrum Disorders using ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis). At the moment my youngest student is 6 and my oldest is 19. I love my job! My work hours are flexible which is good and bad - they can be a bit all over the place but I also have a lot of control over when I want to work or not.

I live in NYC where I am originally from. I left for 7 years though before coming back and have lived various places in the US and Canada.

As for TTC things: I had a chemical/early loss about a year ago when we weren't even trying. It was still a bit rough though as I was actually super happy when I got that positive test at first.

I went off nuvaring in May - my cycles have been super irregular 34days and 29days with 6,8, and 3 day periods and all kinds of odd spotting - also a SIX day lp.

I started vitex and b vitamins this month and already it seems like I may be about to O soon on only cd10 based on a very nearly positive looking OPK.

My biggest struggle with TTC is that I am both Bipolar and severely AD/HD and was in a really good place with my meds which I also just went off of - by tapering off in May/June and going completely off in July.
Wellness is a daily choice I need to work hard to achieve. I have to pay close attention to diet, physical activity, going to therapy, spending more time out in the sun in the park, going to church, going to bed early and more!
Due to the toll being off my meds takes DH and I agreed to only try for one year. After that if we aren't lucky we plan to adopt - which will also be a long process!

Sorry this is so long! Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Ahhhhh stella! I am sorry! I just read your post on the other one.. I giggled a bit because my brother is diagnosed ocd and anxiety.. I have ocd tendancies.. As well as some anxiety but those I believe are both symptoms of my ptsd.. Did you follow that? Lol I actually work in mental health..

Anywho, I sat there debating because I figured you might want to.. But then said screw it lets get this show on the road lol.. For good measure you tell me if you want that first post edited and I shall do it just for you ;)

Bahaha- I'll use it as an exercise in letting go! I'm glad this show is on the road and I have a few people to really really get to know :)

Hi all, I'm Amanda, 23. DH is 24.

I always knew I wanted to have kids early. Got bitten by the bug at age 20 but the time wasn't right until late last year.
We began trying in Dec 2013 and got pregnant in March. Ended in MMC at 9w. Got pregnant again in June but that ended in a CP. We're trying again but only until September. I live in Texas and I don't want a full term pregnancy in the summer. If we don't get it by Sept we're putting it off until March 2015.

I'm 1dpo right now, hoping this is it. I keep telling myself third time's a charm, and that since I've had two losses, there's no way I'd be unlucky to have a third, but after the second I'm pretty disheartened. My OB isn't worried yet at least.

Hoping you ladies are having a fab weekend. :) x

Uhm guys? I might be a little teeny tiny eeeeeensy bit addicted to POAS....

To be fair, a close friend was recently TTC and got pregnant. She knows DH and I are "trying soon," so gifted me some of her leftover FRERs... after I'd already bought a few on my own. I think I'm set, at least for a cycle or two!

I'm so sorry to hear about your previous losses- that must be heartbreaking. I really hope you get a sticky baby soon. I can only imagine how hot you'd be if you were full-term in Texas, I can't blame you for waiting if you don't get your BFP by September. I hope you won't have a reason to post-pone :)

Well my internet is busted. I want to do my intro on my laptop as I find it annoying to type that much on mobile. Running to the apple store now. Bbl!

Hi ladies! I'm Elena. I'm 21 (about to turn 22 in September) and DH is 30. I have Bipolar and Focal Epilepsy, PCOS is possible, but undiagnosed. My hormones are messed up. Testosterone is too high, Estrogen is a tad low, progesterone is also a bit low. He's all good, except for hypertension, which causes some ED issues. We have been TTC since January/February 2013, so a bit over 18 months now. We had our first MC in June 2013 at about 7 weeks, but I didn't know I was pregnant. Our second MC was in February of this year, at about 6 weeks. We knew we were pregnant, so that one was much, much harder.

But as of now, I am 7DPO with a 12 day LP. My cycles are always very regular, which is good. It's so nice to be part of your little group! I also have a group in the TWW section that a few ladies and myself keep alive. So feel free to join my group as well, my ladies won't mind! I enjoy having TWW buddies and such. It's nice to be part of your group! :hugs:

Elena!
I am sorry for your losses. Hope your next bean is the stickiest!

I am Bipolar too! And with Brooke working in mental health... how perfect.
Staying off my meds and well is my biggest struggle for ttc so far. I am about to write about it in my intro post more.

Okay - I updated my intro. It is long - sorry!
Scroll back to page one to read - thanks!

I feel super lost! I think we should have done one intro at a time with a question and answer period lol

Mint it was funny because as I read your intro you continually answered my questions. I have much respect for you and your dh defining a time ttc. I am super happy that you are taking care of yourself because that is done important.

On another note, i took behavioural psychology which was two years of ABA and two of counseling psychology. I spent three years in low barrier housing for price with mental health and addictions. Now I am doing vocational rehab for people with mental health and addictions. BUT my role here is as a support and a friend! :)

Next, I am super apologetic to anyone that has experienced any type of loss. That cant be easy and I couldn't even imagine. I havent ever even had so much as an evap. But I know I would be a complete mess.

I am happy to have the opportunity to get to know everyone. I will say now, I also was diagnosed adhd at a very young age.. never medicated, in fact my parents didn't evrn tell me until I was 22. But it explains a lot. Anywho sometimes I get so distracted in my own journal that I forget to check other threads so bare with me lol

Brooke - oh! I didn't mean to imply that you would be acting as a professional or anything - just that you would have an understanding.
I took one course on the recovery model which covered voc-rehab a bit. It was interesting but pretty far from my work.
I am actually still in the process of getting my certification (BCBA). One year left of online courses and then boards. I am almost done with my fieldwork.

Wish I was this lucky! Ive only bought ic so far! Have one box of frer that im saving lol

Mint: I guess us Bipolar gals can have a shot too! :hugs: I was diagnosed at 15. The Epilepsy was diagnosed when I was 20. I am still on my medication, but at the lowest possible dose I can be on and still be stable. 90% of my medications are naturopathic, so those are fine. The only prescriptions I take for anything are: Lamictal (200mgs for Bipolar/Epilepsy) Prazosin (5mgs for PTSD) Synthroid (150mcgs for Hashimoto's Disease) and Vistaril (Anxiety related to the PTSD)

Obviously the Lamictal, Vistaril and the Prazosin, are Category C. The Synthroid are both Category A, so that's fine. Doc said as soon as I get a pink line on a test, I need to go off all my meds other than the Synthroid. I will have to do therapy 2x a week instead of one. But, I'm willing to do it. I want to be off all of them now. But I just can't risk it. My Bipolar is alright, but the seizures would be the bad part.

But anyway, it's nice to know I'm not alone! :hugs:

Brooke - yeah the only one I've stayed on is Singulair for my asthma - it is category B - it isn't worth the risk to go off it as inhalers are even worse and I would definitely end up needing to use my inhaler more if I tried to go off the singulair.

I also have Tic Disorder and the Abilify I had been on for bipolar also really helped control my tics. I had to disclose at work when I went off it because I didn't want anyone getting freaked out when I twitched or yelped and thinking something was wrong. Luckily the tics are totally harmless - just embarrassing and cutting down on caffeine and getting more sleep is helping and most days have been going pretty well. The first month was really tough but better now and hopefully worth it!

Have any of the rest of you had to make changes to ttc such as going off any medications, changes in diet, or other lifestyle changes?

How have you found being off your medications? I know some individuals I work with that are or are not on medication only have episodes of mania every couple of months vs some others who will cycle weekly. I hope your husbands are pretty supportive and can recognize the signs if need be. Thats most important to take care of yourselves. I havent had any of my clients go off meds to ttc.. So I find this interesting to learn.

I havent really made many changes other then trying different vitamins omegas
, b 6 etc.. But I stopped those this cycle as I didnt want it to alter any of the tests I will have done at the specialist. The biggest thing I need to do is make diet and exercise changes.. Or I should say get back to my routines lol I fell off my wagon big time..
