I really don't want to take them in to get measured as I don't want them to have any idea. You'd think I'd never done this before!

But what size bike should I be looking at for a 6.5 yr old girl (quite small for age) and 4 Yr old boy?

Thanks if you can help 😚

my 3yr old - very big for age (wears 4-5) has a 14inch.
my 5.5 yr old, average size has a 16inch. He isnt very confident on it tho as no stabilisers

Can you measure how tall they are (say it's for clothing or something) and then maybe call up a bike shop and see what size they recommend for someone of x height?

Here is a bike size guide - it depends on their leg length generally.

My 110cm tall 4 year old has outgrown his 14in so is getting a 16in for xmas

My 4 nearly 5 year old is outgrowing his 12" (knees come up too high) so he's getting a 14" for xmas x

I bought my average size 8year old girl a 20inch wheel bike for her birthday x

Thank you everyone, that's really helpful 😃 x

Lora - Finley is 4 and has a 14 inch and Daisy is 6 in Jan and needs a 16 inch (currently has 14 that she can ride but shes defo too big lol!) x

Bought 😃 considering getting 2 yr old a balance bike but not sure how well she will be able to use it

My lb had a balance bike and could never do it. I have heard great things about them but no for us

my 2 both had balance bikes (finley still uses his now!) and they're fab. Daisy learnt to ride a bike with no stabilisers at 4.5 which I think was cause she was used to being on two wheels from the balance bike. she literally only had the stabilisers on while she learnt to pedal x

They both had metal - the wooden ones look nice but are quite a lot heavier x

Yeah Wills has one. Well, did, he's broke it 😒 but he was 3- im just not sure if Alice would manage it as she will be only just 2 and she's dinky. I suppose she would soon grow into it mind.

My 3 yr old has a 12inch and she isn't that tall. For your four year old I'd go for 14inch. Not sure about your older one.
I think measurements go on inside leg, so maybe say it's for pyjamas or something.

We struggled to find one small enough for our small 2 year old. TBH he really only took to it when he was nearer 4. But now loves it.

How about one of the plastic motorbike things toys r us sell with big fat wheels. Same running action as balance bike but without the balance issues.
