?!?!? Sleep please?!?!

What about sleeping in an old t-shirt for a few days and leaving that next to him whenever you are not around? Or as others said try to bulk up the solid intake.other option is possibly switching his milk to a hungrier baby one maybe it'll satisfy him more at night.

I remember one of your old posts about you how always entertain him when awake. It sounds like the little monkey wants you all the time!!I leave Abi to her own devices in short bursts through the day.

I don't have a clingy baby and she sleeps through the night but I had this with my 1st hun.I hope it eases off and you get some much needed sleep.Well done you for going back to work xx

oh sweetie i have no idea what to suggest, poor you :hugs: no wonder you're exhausted honey, i really feel for you :hugs: maybe having a chat with the doc again, but i see no reason why you can water down his feeds to get him on water, we did that when maddi had gastro, though i don't no anything about reflux :hugs: x x x

Sounds like you better just lock him in the cupboard for an hour then

Is there anything that does make him sleep for a long time? Going out in the buggy ... blah blah?

 dont think i havent thought about it

Theres a young lad i work with and he used to scream and scream so much his mum put him in the shed in the back garden for half an hour just to get some peace :rofl:

Ha ha thats brill!!Shame they don't come with batteries!

Hannah did that to us and honestly we had to be mean and stop night feeds all together. It was really rough for a few days but it was the best thing we've done. May be different with Jacob though because of the reflux issues but sometimes you have got to use tough love :hugs:

Thanks everyone. Ive been tough and got him into his own bed and to self settle so think i just need to suck it up and be a bit tougher and just go cold turkey on the night feeds. He is on solids but not much only been weaning a month. So he is on 3 little meals a day. I have tried more but he doesnt accept it but willl persist.

Im off work tomorrow so think i will just give up sleep tonight and just not feed him even if i have to sit up all night, i need to get this sorted.

Just hard you know when your already exhausted have been for months and the thought of another night with no sleep makes you not want to go to bed as you know whats ahead of you :(

Oh well thanks again girlies. XxxX

Changing the night feed habits will be hard... But IMO (obviously im not a ped haha) the night feeding makes reflux worse. Think about it, he is laying on his back for 10+ hours (even if he has a wedge)... In the day you have a chance to keep him upright etc.

Jasmine still pukes alot throughout the day, but I found once the night feeds stopped her day eating got better and she wasnt as cranky from the reflux. In the day she still naps in her bouncy chair so she is elevated.

I still give a dream feed at 10... but I think so I can stop, because when she wakes up in the morning she doesnt eat alot at all...

Good luck!!!!

Changing the night feeds is hard but when they are going so long without during the day (which is exactly what Hannah did--because she would rather play) and not sleeping at night because they want to feed 2-3 times than it really needs to be done. Good luck :hugs:

I really hope you manage to get some sleep. I don't know how you're managing to go to work so tired! I've still got 2 months left to sort out Erin's night waking before going back to work. Good luck, you're doing such a great job xx

Wow, I cant believe your working with such little sleep

Rebecca has silent reflux and for a while would only take a few oz's at a time but we found that by putting her in her bouncy chair and feeding her that she took more milk, dont know why but it worked, might be something to try? we also found that distracting her a biut whilst being fed helped as she was drinking but not realising she was, if that makes sense?

Its a horrible situation as he would sleep if he was eating more during the day but you cant force a baby to eat if they dont want too- been there done that:rofl:

Aww, honey, I hope he starts to settle soon. It's hard with lack of sleep and working, and getting through the day-to-day routine. :hugs:

Could you try sleeping in the room when your mums got him? I just figure you said its ok if you're in the room, even if someone can carry him or entertain him so you can relax and watch tv or something??
:hugs: I hope he gets better :hugs:

aww bless ya hun ....u may of already tryed all this but maybe u could try feeding him baby cereal around 8ish so that wil sit on his belly...its kinda like hes got his eating habbits the wrong way round. hopefully with the night without food he will be super hungry in the morning and daytime that he will eat loads enuff to fill him up tomo night....how has he been so far? xx

Aww I really hope that it gets better for you soon, I dont think I could cope with that little sleep. Sorry I don't have any more advice than what has already been given.

Aww Ema :hugs:

I know all about a clingy baby! I used to have to carry Daisy around the house with me!
Things in that respect have started to get easier, I found something she enjoyed playing with.....put her on her mat with it or in her bouncy chair and left her and went to the kitchen, gradually over 2 weeks I was making the gap I was leaving her bigger and bigger..... till eventually I can now get the dishes done, get a wash on and bottles made all in one go!
She can amuse herself up to about 20 mins now!

About his feeding I'm not sure as Daisy didn't have reflux, but have you tried giving him something like babyrice or cereal at about 8:00-8:30pm? It might get him to sleep a bit longer and if he is only taking tiny amounts of solids through the day maybe give him 4 small meals instead of 3?

I really hope you get it sorted soon hunny, Daisy has been restless for a week now and I am shattered so I have no idea how you must be feeling after 5 months:hugs:

Oh hun
Wish i could come and watch him for you

:hugs: must be so hard to have such lack of sleep and working! Even lack of sleep without working is tough! Benn was a terrible sleeper and didnt sleep through until he was about 8 months so i know how you feel! Hope Jacob sleeps better for you soon x

wow hun... you are doing so well..!! Ive said for ages to myself I would not be able to work if it wasnt for Courtney sleeping at night!! When we have had bad nights... she comes in my bed and OH goes on sofa!! Not an ideal way cos dont want her to get used to it but it has worked... sleep is precious to us both as we are working full time!! Last few nights she has been fab and all though she has me up at 7.30 and my shift today is 12-8! *GROAN*!! i cant complain cos she gives me a big chunk at night!!

Your a super mum!!! :hugs:

Well last night went okish. I said i would feed him the 1st time he wakes (as i deserately need the 1st few hours and then it was water.) so he had his tea then bath then bottle and in bed for 8pm as usual. He slept till 11 i went to bed at 9.30 to catch up on sleep so i feed him and he went till 2.....then it went WAY downhill but i stuck to it and only gave him water from then on, he woke every 30mins crying but i persisted and then we got up at 6 and he had his breakfast (ate the whole bowl and then had 3oz of milk) and is now down for a nap :saywhat: he NEVER NAPS!!! Prob so tired from last night. anyway so ive had about 3.5hrs sleep but im doing ok bit positive so will see how tonight goes. But im sticking to it even if i get no sleep from being up and down to his cot- there is NO WAY he is coming into my bed again and he will just have to get used to only being fed once in the night as he doesnt need to be feed 3-6x times! XxX

wow sounds like you had a rough night, hopefully it will get better the more and more you persist.

Maybe him not feeding so much at night time will mean he takes more during the day....? fingers crossed.

Sounds like you are doing fab. x
