Sleep positions, cravings + more! Old wives tales

Hey everyone, I thought I'd write out a list of gender predicting wives tales and have a bit of fun figuring out if they're true for us or not! None of these are based in fact or proven to be true from a medical standpoint.

I don't know my baby's gender yet but will know in about two weeks. It'll be cool to come back and see if any of the guesses are accurate haha.

1. SLEEP POSITION.
If you prefer sleeping on your left side, you'll have a boy. Right side? Your pregnant with a girl.

I sleep either on my back or on my right, so girl for me!

2. MORNING SICKNESS
Regular and intense morning sickness indicates a girl. If you're first tri has been a breeze, you're having a boy!

I am extremely sick, so girl again!

3. DRY SKIN?
If your hands are dry during pregnancy, you are having a boy; soft -- expect a girl.

My hands haven't changed, guess it's girl once more for me.

4.CRAVING ORANGES?
If you're craving citrus while pregnant, you're having a girl.

I hate citrus fruits, but I do crave acidity in other forms (spicy foods, vinegar, pickles etc). But still if this is just based on citrus, boy for me!

5. ACNE?
If altering hormones makes your skin break out, expect a girl.

My skin isn't any more or less clear than it was pre-pregnancy. So I guess boy again!

6. GRACE?
If you feel as though you're gliding through they day, you'll have a girl. Stumbling? It's a boy

I think neither apply to me here! I suppose I'm more clumsy than graceful.. so I'll go with boy for this one.

7. FACE WEIGHT?
If your face gets fuller, it means you're having a girl.

Nope, no face weight here for me! Boy.

8. SALT OR SUGAR?
Craving salt during pregnancy? Potato chips, pretzels, and popcorn means a boy is on the way. Need a little something sweet? Ice cream, chocolate, and candy means you're having a girl.

I crave both! Seriously I don't know which to pick. I want potato chips IN my ice cream and popcorn covered in chocolate sauce! This one is definitely undecided for me.

9. MOOD?
If you're experiencing pregnant mood-swings, expect a baby girl to arrive soon.

Yep I'm very moody - girl!

10. HIGH OR LOW?
If you're carrying the baby low on your stomach, expect a boy. If it's high, you're having a girl

I'm too early to show so I can't answer this one either!

In the end my results are: Four for four! Man I really thought girl was going to end up the winner. Guess I will just have to wait after all.

I'd love to see you all answer for yourselves (especially if you already know the gender) so we can have fun comparing the myths to reality!

My hands haven't changed, but are neither soft or dry. I do sometimes use hand cream so maybe dryer than 'normal'? Boy this time.

4.CRAVING ORANGES?
If you're craving citrus while pregnant, you're having a girl.

Not really! Boy, again.

5. ACNE?
If altering hormones makes your skin break out, expect a girl.

I am spottier than normal- girl!

6. GRACE?
If you feel as though you're gliding through they day, you'll have a girl. Stumbling? It's a boy

Definitely stumbling! Boy!

7. FACE WEIGHT?
If your face gets fuller, it means you're having a girl.

I think I may have developed an extra chin! Girl!

8. SALT OR SUGAR?
Craving salt during pregnancy? Potato chips, pretzels, and popcorn means a boy is on the way. Need a little something sweet? Ice cream, chocolate, and candy means you're having a girl.

definitely eating more salty, savoury than sweet. Boy!

9. MOOD?

More so than normal. Girl!

10. HIGH OR LOW?
If you're carrying the baby low on your stomach, expect a boy. If it's high, you're having a girl

Definitely low! Boy!

I was more nauseous this pregnancy than either of my other two. I had no morning sickness with my daughter or my son. I was sooooo nauseous this time - girl


3. DRY SKIN?

It could be that it's fall but I do have dry skin - boy


4.CRAVING ORANGES?
If you're craving citrus while pregnant, you're having a girl.

I did crave citrus in my first tri. I wanted oranges and orange juice but it gave me terrible heart burn. I haven't craved it lately. Hmm I did at one point so I'll say - girl

5. ACNE?
If altering hormones makes your skin break out, expect a girl.

I normally have bad skin and I break out way worse during pregnancy - girl

6. GRACE?
If you feel as though you're gliding through they day, you'll have a girl. Stumbling? It's a boy

Clumsy even when I'm not pregnant - boy

7. FACE WEIGHT?
If your face gets fuller, it means you're having a girl.

My face isn't fuller I don't think - boy


8. SALT OR SUGAR?

I've craved a little of both but probably more savory than sweet - boy

Soooooooo moody. Poor SO - girl

He usually lays pretty low in general and my bump sits low - boy


I'm 5 and 5 lol
Also for heart rate, he was always in the 170's right to the point we found out he was a boy. That appointment and onward he's been around 140. I think he was trying to fool me my first tri between heart rate and my awful nausea.

I had mild morning sickness, but my first trimester was far from easy. I'm torn on this one!

I personally feel like my face is getting fuller, but my boyfriend disagrees. I'll still go with girl.

Both, no way I can pick one over the other here.

In the end my results are: 4-Girl, 3-Boy. We'll see. I find out tomorrow

I've just done the Chinese gender prediction test and it says girl. I did it for my daughter and it said boy! She's 6 and definitely a girl! I've also brought my gender scan forward to this Saturday! Eek!
