I am scared before i feel pregnant i always slept on my tummy and now i`m nearly 18wks pregnant and as much as i try not to i still wake up on my belly am i hurting the baby

I sleep on my belly still. My midwife said it's fine untill it's uncomfortable :)

I still sleep on my belly too, except I have to pull a leg up toward my chest to get comfortable, but my doc said the same as toria's mw, it's fine until it's uncomfortable.

Yeah I do the leg thing too, wake up with cramp quite often! :|

Have you tried using a body pillow? The one that I have makes it impossible to be on my tummy, although sometimes I wake up on my back (I've heard that's not so great either). But I like the advice from toriaaaa's midwife--if you're comfortable, that's what counts!

thanks guys was really worried this is my second pregnancy my first baby was born with birth defects and passed away just 3 and half beautiful months of having her nobody could ever tell me what happened everything makes me worry just want everything to be ok

That's understandable, just try not to worry TOO much , it's not good for you.

i do exactly the same. pLus the leg thing. whatever i try i end up leaning on my tummy!

My doctor seemed to think sleeping on my stomach was fine until it became uncomfortable--I am completely a stomach sleeper! Don't know what I'll do when it does become uncomfortable!!

It took me 4 hours trying to get to sleep last night because I was trying to do it "the proper way." You know, on your left side, not on your belly, not on your back. That is actually physically IMPOSSIBLE for me to do. But I gave it a go

I was a stomach sleeper until 4.5 months. Then one day, you just physically cant lay on your stomach and thats that...I cant wait to sleep on my stomach again though!

Sleeping on my stomach has just started to get uncomfortable. I still end up sleeping on my side, with a pillow under my bump, and between my legs. It actually is pretty comfy. Like everyone said, it should be fine, whatever makes you comfortable.:hugs:

i cant sleepon tummy any more its to uncomfortable. try to sleep on side with pillows but end up waking up from rolling onto tummy and pillows are on floor dont askme how they end up there. xx
