I got a slow cooker as an early birthday pressent and I love it, we have only had it a few weeks but its been used so much. The only downside is we seem to be cooking the same stuff over again so I'm looking for insperation of things to do in it.

Beef Stew. If you go to the AllRecipes website and search "Irish Beef Stew" It will be the first result. I cut out the beer and just add a full 900 mL box of beef broth (that is including the amount of beef broth they call for in the recipe). This goes great with a nice biscuit, and is absolutely a family fave in my house. Even my Momma (who doesn't like stew) loves it.

Stew;

I brown off any meat i choose, so its just sealed not cooked. Add hot water, stock, a mixture of herbs and fresh veg and leave it on all day. The house always smells good when its cooking and by allowing the food to cook slowly the flavour is incredible..

:)

i cook pretty much anything and everything in mine, any kind of casserole or stew be it lamb, beef, sauasage, chicken, pork (you can pick up good ideas and packets from supermarket i no asda have quite a few packets labelled for slow cookers) you can do curries, we have also cooked a leg of lamb for our sunday roast in ours.

i've made all different casseroles, soups, curry and roasts x

Sausage casserole, beef stew, curry etc.
Slow cooker is good for random nearly payday meals too. Chuck all random veg in, tin of chopped toms, some herbs and what meat you want and hope for the best lol.
Sausage and bean casserole is nice in the slowcooker. Brown sausages, chuck in pan with chopped onions, tin or 2 baked beans, big squirt of brown sauce. I chuck whatever veg I need using into it too..I dont mind odd meals. Bobs your uncle!

i make casseroles & stew mainly. I did a sausage casserole the other week with chopped toms, & added pasta to it nommy.

Pretty much everything- prepare something the night before and then throw it in the slower cooker in the morning and it cooks for several hours at least.

My faves:

- piece of ham in coke
- whole chicken with a bit of stock in the bottom and a little butter, garlic and paprika on the bird
- lamb shanks
- chilli (soooooo tasty!)
- a simple sachet meal like chicken casserole - just tastes so much better!
- beef stew

It is stews and casseroles we have been doing in it so far, so trying to expand from those.
How hard is it to make curry? Are there any easy beginer recipes around?

Curry, stew, cawl, pie mix, soup, spag bol, paella.
^^ I mad e aturkey cury last week, I cooked a turkey leg in the oven for an hour then browned some onions and chucked them in with the turkey (whole). Put in peppers and pineapple. Fried curry powder, garam masala, turmeric, paprika and cumin for 2 minutes and chucked that in too. Oh and a pt of chicken stock. Cooked it for 6 hours on low, stirred some cream in 20 minutes before serving.

Dr. Pepper Pork from the Pioneer Woman's blog is my absolute favorite!
