Slow Eater

Does anyone else get frustrated because their LO takes FOREVER to finish a bottle? Anthony is very slow, it was taking him 20-30 minutes to finish a two ounce bottle, and now since going up to 4 oz it takes 30-40 minutes. I get the most frustrated at night and I feel bad for it but I just do not know what to do to make myself less frustrated.

Could it be that Anthony is needing the med flow teat?

Alex used to take ages to have a btl, then the HV suggested moving up to med flow teats and hey presto we take them in mins lol

Same advice - to mine used to take ages on slow flow. She loves fast flow teet because when she wants food she wants food quickly!

I had this problem with jenna and i moved her up to a medium flow teat and had no more problems xxx

Yup, I agree with the other ladies. If necessary, ignore the age guidelines on the teats. Ruby has always liked a fast flow of milk and was on fast flow (for 6m+) at 4m.

As above we moved our LO onto variflow teats when it was taking him an hour to take a bottle x

Ok, but if he sometimes chokes with this teat is it still ok to move up?

Carter has been on fast flow since 2 weeks he hates anything else he still chokes from time to time or lets the milk fill up his mouth and than just open it lol but i tried all the other nipples and none of them worked well for him

I'm also having this problem with my daughter - I bought a medium flow teat yesterday but although she finished her bottle in record time, she kept choking on the milk flow and the milk kept building up in her mouth so that by the end of the feeding session she was wearing most of it lol
