Hey ladies, I signed up on this forum just so I could get some feedback on my situation. I am 6 weeks 5 days. I had an ultrasound done at 6 weeks 3 days and
Code:
the baby was measuring 5 weeks 6 days with a heart rate of 85 bpm. Since the time I found out I was pregnant, I have felt that something was off. And now as I go further along, I am feeling less and less symptoms. Today I was tired and my boobs do hurt, but this feels nothing like my first pregnancy. I am looking for honest answers, and what to excpet. And this point I don't feel very hopeful. Thank you so much.

if ur babies heart had just started beating it will be slow ? have u another scan anytime soon ?

You're in my thoughts. 85bpm is pretty low, but maybe it's early? Do you have another scan scheduled? I hope that your next scan the heartbeat picks up

:hugs:

How big was bub? It's heart has probably just started beating.

The heart rate depends on the size.

A 1996 study established the following as the minimum normal heart rates in early pregnancy ultrasounds, with the size varying by the size of the fetal pole:

2 mm embryo: 75 beats per minute
5 mm embryo: 100 beats per minute
10 mm embryo: 120 beats per minute
15 mm embryo: 130 beats per minute

I found this really useful website about first trimester u/s

https://www.brooksidepress.org/Products/Military_OBGYN/Ultrasound/1st_trimester_ultrasound_scannin.htm

It states that the HB will start off really slow between 60-90bpm and that the actual presence of it is more important than the rate.

Yeah, at 5+6 your babys heart had JUST started beating. The fact that you saw ANYTHING that soon is absolutely great!

I am in a similar situation as you Tishtaush. I had transvaginal u/s on Tuesday when I was supposed to be somewhere in the region of 7w1d to 7w5d. Baby was measuring small - somewhere in the 6th week and had a slow heart rate.

I have a follow up scan on Tuesday to see what is happening. I was told that things were not looking good for my baby.

From what I have read though, the heartbeat does start slowly and increases over time. Are you sure of your dates? If not, and if they are right that you were 5w6d, it could be that the heart had just started and it will speed up. As I am supposed to be further along (only a week but it seems to matter) I am less hopeful of that.

Basically I'm hoping for the best but expecting the worst on Tuesday.

Are you booked in for a follow up scan?

I have an ultrasound scheduled for Aug 16th but I am going to sneak another one in before then cause the waiting is making .e crazy. Soooooo..... I'm just gonna go to pregnancy centersometime before then.

I would be doing the same - I only have to wait one week for my follow up. Two weeks would be hell.

What did they say to you when you had the first scan. What advice did they give you?
