sma stay down?

Can you mix sma stay down with other milks? Also can you use gaviscon at the same time?

My guy has been on staydown for a year now, I dont think you can mix it with other milks as it is so thick and you have to prepare it so differently, I could be wrong though. We ended up not having to use the gaviscon but I dont see why you can use it at the same time. x

I'm not sure either but I suspect not as it is made different in terms of ingredients and making up with water (staydown needs to be refridgerated water)

You shouldnt use Gaviscon at the same time, its a feed thickener and SMA Staydown thickens up in the tummy, you could end up with some bowel issues. Its very rare to be prescribed them at the same time

The HV said I could, however I didn't find any benefit from it. What I was trying to do was create a happy balance between how gentle sma comfort is on her with the thickness of the staydown. It resulted in just watering down the staydown, so it made it useless for reflux. To mix them I made up the half staydown in one bottle, half comfort in the other. Then just combined. I found this gave me the perfect drinking temp if nothing else but it meant both milks were prepared correctly too. Now we're just on staydown as we've been advised to wean to help combat the reflux. However I still use the trick of adding half hot water to the bottle - it's SO much faster than using the bottle warmer.
