I just have to say LO is so smart already. She seems to carry the same feelings about MIL that I do. So yesterday MIL decided she just HAD to come over and visit. I'm sitting in the chair with LO relaxing and having some nice snuggle time. MIL comes over and immediately makes a beeline for LO takes her from my arms and immediately LO starts crying. I politely ask her to give me back my baby and she tells me oh she's fine she can take care of her. The whole while LO is getting more and more worked up because a) she doesn't know MIL at all and b) she was comfy and happy with me and didn't like getting moved. So I finally have enough and take her back and get her calmed down again. And because I am trying to stay on good terms with hubby about his family so I can get what I want later in the year of moving I offered to give LO back to MIL. Of course she takes me up on it and takes her. But immediately LO starts crying again. So I took her back and continued to hold her, which she stopped crying immediately and started smiling.

LO is very smart and holds good taste for not liking MIL one bit. And I sure as heck am not going to encourage a relationship between them.

My lo does the same thing. :haha: when she's content people in my family pass her around like a bag of potatoes. but she screams bloody murder and comes to me trying to grin and talk

Your lo is able to pick up on your cues. even if mil is to slow to see them :)

Is this all your MIL has done or is there some other reason for not wanting to foster a relationship between your child and your grandmother? Or are you joking?

I'm not joking at all. Since little one was born she has only attempted to see her now 3 times. She has been evil towards me and trying to get between hubby and I. When we told her we were pregnant all she could say was "oh" in a disgusted manner. And they way she acts, talks, and behaves I don't support LO being around her at all. In fact I don't support LO being around any of his family. Hence why I have to keep hubby happy so I get what I want and move closer to my family in KY towards the end of the year. Which is why I'm trying to play as sweet as possible with MIL. And since being with hubby she has made it quite clear how much she disapproves of me.

Fair enough :flower: Honest questions. I wasn't sure. I hope it didn't come off as mean. :)

No it didn't come off as mean. And since don't know the history then have no way of knowing.

Mine is the same way. She looooves my mom but hates OH's mom. Lol.

Hahahahaha... I'm hoping my LO does this with my in laws... So far, this is how it's been... I just need the laugh.

:hugs:

I don't know what they expect sometimes. If they don't take the time to interact with the baby then the baby won't know them.

:hugs:

I don't understand grandparents that don't take the time to see their grandchildren.
