Recently I have noticed, in between the skin folds on my baby's thighs has started to smell a bit. She is kept clean but I do think it gets a bit sweaty in there.

Is there anything I can do to help this? I have heard of ointment alternatives to talc but when I asked in the chemist today they didn't know what I meant?

avent do a liquid talc..
i use an organic lavendar nappy balm on ruby, its made by green baby. when i do a napp change i make sure that is in her little wrinkles too and so far shes never had nappy rash and no longer gets fusty skin folds...

Oooo i have this with my LO, she has a problem with her neck folds!!! and they can get quite red... i just bathe in salt water and add sudecream.. but would use something else if it worked! she gets bathed every night and washed but still gets a cheesy neck!

I put on a smear of vaseline - it seems to stop the sweat from accumulating there

Same here. Abby's neck is often cheesy. She hates it being washed too.

My DD always had a sore smelly neck, i just used to put a little bit of talc - it worked a treat!! No more smelly neck!

Imi gets it too. She's such a chunky monkey, she gets it in her neck, under her arms and skin creases on her legs!!

I always try and keep them washed and dry but her neck was proving a nightmare and talc just solidifyed! I had to take her to the docs on advice of HV a couple of weeks ago as her neck had got really sore and she was given a cream (Miconezole) which cleared it up within 2 days. He said theres not alot you can do, just keep trying to wash it and dry with jay cloths as they have "no bits". He said they grow into their skin soon enough so nothing to worry about

Yeh, it's very difficult to keep on top of Livs 'pit cheese'!! I tend to give her a good wipe with a top and tail muslin to get it off in the morning and try my best to get it off in the bath at night (easier said than done!) I find putting stuff under there causes it to be worse. xx

I bath hollie verynight with johnsons baby bedtime and the lotion, she doesnt seem to get this anymore xxx
