Smiley digital OPK CD 12 - yet 20 day LP??

Has anyone ever had a smiley face on a clear blue digital OPK that has turned out to be a false positive?

I had a smiley face on CD 12, but then had a 20 ish day LP till AF arrived ??

I am pretty sure that the test must be wrong (??) or I have a freakishly long LP?

My last LP was 12 days, before that, so that seems a bit more normal to me!!

Anyone else had anything similar?

A smiley face indicates an LH surge. You can ovulate 12-24 or even 48 hrs after that. So if you did ov 48 hrs after, that leaves an 18 day LF. Was it a normal AF that you got? Was it heavier/lighter than normal?

AF has been pretty normal really.

I thought 18/20 day LP was way too long??

maybe you ovulated a little later than you thought? I once got my smiley on a monday and had ewcm on the thursday so i think i ovulated on thursday instead of tuesday. I've read it sometimes happens. Also, did you take any hpt's? Its also possible that you had a chemical pregnancy that didn't implant which would make your period a few days later than expected. Idk, its just a few possibilities.

I agree with TeddyBear - you either ovulated later or you had a chemical pregnancy.
