I have just put Millie on Aptamil comfort on hv recommendation, but I am finding, that as she was bf, she is snacking, just having 2 oz every 2 hours.
I am making up 4oz but she cannot seem to finish it and the bottle will last 2 hours.

I am wondering if this is just snacking from being bf or is it that the formula is so thick its lying very heavy on her tummy.

So do I swap to normal aptamil and hope I can get more down her?
Or do I keep going and see if I can get her to go longer between feeds and literally force more down her?

The hv said wait a few days and see if things improve, but this was on Friday.

Aptimil comfort is a thicker formula, so it could be that she is filling up quicker.

My baby was a "snacker" (as my HV kept telling me ) but she changed her habits on her own. She just gradually started increasing the amounts she was taking and the time between bottles by herself. My HV had tried to make me give her sips of water between feeds, told me to "make her wait" etc, and all it did was make all of us miserable.

I remember the days of taking about 6 bottles out with us when we were out all day, but it didn't last for a huge amount of time in the grand scheme of things.

One thing which did just occur to me, is that for a while I mis-read LO's signals. Initially if she stuck her hands near her mouth it was a hunger cue, but as she got older, it was just that she had found her hands. So I'd get a bottle out and she would only take a tiny bit, because she wasn't actually hungry! I forget what age it was at for my daughter, and I don't know if it applies to yours, but thought I'd mention it!

If you are ok to keep feeding her on demand, then I'd keep at it for now :hugs::)

Thanks Eala, I did think was I misreading the cues, but she will literally scream the house down and get worked up then only manage about 2oz.

I have just read somewhere, that as its a thicker feed its easier to digest so will go through their systems quicker so will be hungry sooner.

Really not sure whether to try the normal aptamil 1 as I have put her straight on a comfort feed as my first son was on this, and it was life changing, but Millie seems to still have wind of this anyway also when I give her, her bottle she loves it gulps it down but when I give it her later on (within time limit) she gags on it, so Im thinking either she just likes its hot or reflux.

I also worry about her weight as when I was bf she lost 11oz so only just past her birth weight.
