I need snack ideas for my 8 month old, lol.

Preferably non-messy ideas? :flower:

We do/did alot of fresh fruits, cooked diced veggies, crackers, cheese, little sandwiches

These go down my friend's 8 month old very well.

Very veggie muffins
4oz courgette (grated)
4 oz sweet potato (grated)
4 oz Parmesan cheese (grated)
2 1/2 to 3 oz fresh wholemeal breadcrumbs
1 tbsp plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp water

1. Preheat the oven to 350 deg F ( 180 deg C)
2. Soften the vegetables by simmering in a little water for 2-3 minutes, then drain and pat dry.
3. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly in a bowl
4. Spoon the mixture into a greased mini muffin tin or mini muffin cases.
5. Place in the oven and bake for around 20 minutes until golden.

I made Sofia low sugar banana bread the other day, great for taking out in slices.

3x banana
1/3 cup melted butter
1 egg
1/4 cup white sugar (I actually used 2 tsp pure cane sugar)
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 tsp baking soda
1.5 cups all purpose flour

Pre-heat the oven to 170 degrees centrigrade.
Mash or blend the banana in a large bowl. Pour in the melted butter slowly, stirring as doing so. Beat the egg and stir into the mixture. Add the sugar and vanilla essence. Sprinkle with baking soda and finally add the flour, stirring until it's all throughly mixed. Grease a baking (bread) tin with butter and pour in mixture. Bake for 45 minutes, a knife should come out clean.
If you wrap it in tin foil whilst it's still warm it helps keep it moist.

Mmmm, think I may be eating some of these!!

Rice cakes with or without something on,
Celery sticks,
Cucumber sticks,
Pears (nice and soft).

I only recently discovered that banana stains like a bugger! Who would have guessed, lol :dohh:. I never knew!

Breadsticks go down a treat with us
And slices of fruit are also good (pear and apple aren't messy)

Ooh! I never thought of plain rice cakes or cucumbers, or breadsticks!! :) :)
