Just got home from my doctor's appointment this afternoon. I've had really wonky periods since my miscarriage back in February. One was really light and one was really heavy. I'm now five days late for AF, after having spotted most of this cycle (I'm definitely not pregnant right now). My weird periods, coupled with an increase in acne, has led my doctor to believe that I'm not ovulating.

He put me on iron pills, since my iron levels were just below normal a month ago and I've been bleeding most of this month, hoping to increase that level. He told me that I have to wait for my next period. If it's normal, we're good to go. If it's not normal in any way, I'm supposed to call him and he'll probably end up referring my to a gynecologist for them to use hormone pills to force me to ovulate. He also mentioned that they might use the birth control pill, but I really don't want that because I won't be able to get pregnant at all then.

Anyone else experienced this? I was just starting to make some strides forward to a happier place, and now I'm upset because I'm probably going to be set back a few months trying to figure this out.

Thanks....

sorry hun i cant help but wanted to give you a big  and i hope your af's and your body sorts itself out and you ovulate soon. must be so frustrating for you sweetheart :hugs: x

Hey-

Sorry to hear about what you are experiencing. I was diagnosed with PCOS a few years ago, but my periods have always been very regular so I have always doubted and diagnosis.

I started having a few problems; weight gain, depression, etc.... and decided to see a herbalist. She actually recommended progesterone cream to help regulate my hormones and help me with weight gain. The first month I used it, we conceived! We weren't even trying. BUT, let me tell you- I had been charting my cycles, and based on when we "frolicked", we should have conceived many months, but did not. We actually went for almost 2.5 years before getting pregnant. So, it appears that I was lacking progesterone and once my body had enough...BAM! little baby on the way.:baby:

So, I guess my point is, progesterone cream might be something to look into. It is safe to use before, during and after your period. The kind I used was Wild Yam progesterone.

Give it some thought...

I hope you get to the bottom of this. Good luck! :hugs:
