Did you buy your nappies new hun? Mini la la's quite commonly wick when they are new. Something to do with taking ages to reach maximum absorbancy. I'd keep trying - maybe even keep them and see if they work better when she is bigger

As for moving her into her own room.. I kept my LO in with us (sidecarred) until she was 10 months
