8 months. No intention of rolling.

As I keep mentioning. She's done it a few times. Three times front to back at around two months and screamed every time. And a couple of times by accident since then but only when we're not looking.

She sat unaided bang on 6 months (for a good amount of time, unaided from 5 months) and loves getting up if I hold her hands and stands. She also babbles and yesterday copied my head motion for the first time. :cloud9: Although it takes a quiet room and a few tries.

I always heard some babies don't roll like some don't crawl. This is right right?

Its quite common for some babies to skip rolling and go on to sitting and crawling and getting themselves about that way.
Same as its common for some to skip crawling and conentrate more on trying to pull themselves straight up.
She may just not have liked the motion of rolling and decided against it and the fact that she is sitting shows she is by no means behind so may have just skiped it if she knew there was other stuff to conentrate on :)

Although Tobi is younger, he has not come anywhere NEAR rolling over, not even by accident! He does however sit very well with a tiny bit of support and loves lap standing. I'm not so worried if he doesn't roll, the later he becomes mobile the better!

Wyn is exactly the same, she finally bothered to try rolling last week and doesn't seem to like it. She also refuses to try crawling or even attempt it.

She does however love standing and is trying to pull herself up on things. I think she will just skip any floor based movements and go on to cruising of the furniture as soon as she can pull herself up.

Megan rolled front to back for a few weeks starting at 11 weeks. But then totally stopped. She sat unaided at 6mo but no signs of rolling over at that time.
At 7 months we figured out she would roll back to front if she thought we were helping her and we'd REALLY encourage her - go, go! roll over & pretend to help lift her leg - then she would roll over. A month ago she really started rolling over without encouragement - she's spent the past 3 weeks rolling over all night long in her crib but wont sleep on her stomach - so I keep rolling her to her back. She now rolls when playing without a second hesitation - but will now only roll back to front - never front to back (even though she CAN do it).

SHe babbles & says words - knows mama, dada, bye, hi, kitty, num-num when she's hungry, night-night when she is ready for bed, no, bottle. So she was concentrating on all that instead. She's not crawling - just pivotes around in circles on her belly. She loves to walk holding our hands & races around the whole house in her walker. She shakes her head no if we say yes or no or if she doesnt want something & waves, etc.

My cousin is two weeks younger than Omar & he doesnt roll over or crawl. But he's soo good with his hands & can feed himself finger food & with a spoon.

lexi has never rolled over...but sat unaided at 5.5 months...has been crawling for 2 weeks and is cruising with furniture.....i wouldn't worry.x

Amelie never rolled either lol she also never crawled until she could walk LOL she was a bum shuffler until she was 17months old :) By 18 months she was running riot.

SHe sounds an awful lot like my little one did. My LO who is now 18 months never rolled did not crawl at all until 14 months and still does it very slowly! Yet was standing at 8, cruising at 9 and walking at 10 - they are all different and like different ways of moving around and once they find a way stick with that for awhile.

My lo is nearly 7 months and hates being on her tummy and won't crawl but she has been sitting unaided since 4.5 months, holding her weight on her feet since 5 months and has just started taking her first steps (if held up)
I can't see her crawling at all - I think she'll go straight to walking

I'm so glad you posted this thread :flower:
My son has only rolled over 3 times and I'm pretty sure one of those was by accident. He can sit unaided (for a short time) and can support his weight standing - with me holding him. On his tummy my son is trying to crawl but I still stress over the not rolling :hugs: xx
