I have been on the sick since 16 weeks pregnant, Im now 34 weeks and my employers said they cannot pay be maternity pay so I had to get a form from the job centre, I said I wanted to be on Maternity leave from work the last week in November, I had been asked to keep handing in sick lines up until the baby is due which I was doing, then on the 23rd of Dec I only got £115.14 in my account, the finance dept from work said that is all Im entitled to as I am now on maternity leave, no one told me to get the form filled in asap if I was still on the sick!! So now I have no money to live on, I used the £115.14 for some food!! Now my rent for Dec was due to be paid on the 22nd and it is £425 I didnt have the money, I went to the job centre who gave me a form for income support, maternity allowance and sure start, I also filled in a housing benefit form so I have to send them away apart from the HB as its already sent on friday past but my landlord has sent me a message this morning to ask when it will be paid, I can get half paid this friday and half paid next friday and then Jans would be paid as normal, should I text him and explain that it will be paid over two weeks and then Januarys would be as normal? do you think that he will mind this? Im so stressed as my baby is due in 5 weeks and I have no money, no pram paid off and problems with the rent!! Im sooooo stressed, any help and advice would be appreciated!! :flower:

I would just text him, say there has been a mix up with your maternity pay now you're not getting wages, clearly tell him when to expect both payments, apologise and say it shouldn't happen again. He won't kick you out for being a little late one time, just make sure next month's payment is on time to reassure him.

Thank you, I texted him and explained the problem but he hasnt replied :( Im not going to think about it now as I have done my bit by explaining and will pay as I said I would :flower:

I was just worried he would kick me out of the house this close to my baby being born!

To kick you out he'd have to get a court order, which takes a few months to get. So long as you're not in arrears then it's not in his interest as it's quite an expensive route to go down. Best wishes for you and the baby x
