im confused with it all and how much im entitled too. i will be checking everything on wednesday, i will be going homeless with my son hes 16months the council says i will be put into a furnished house until they get me a permanent one.
i will get my rent paid for im just worrying that i wont get enough money benefit wise.
or do u have any websites i can visit that will give me an idea on how much i will get?
thank you:flower::flower::flower:

Visit directgov.co.uk. Basic stuff is £80 per month child benefit per child and about £250 per month child tax credits but that depends on current salary if you have no salary or low salary you may be entitled to working tax credits aswell.Your child benefit form should be given to you at hospital and you can take that to registrar when you register birth. child tax credit claim - phone direct gov and ask for a claim pack to be posted to you. you should get free council tax and housing benefit if you don't have a home.

Hope that helps x

I work so it's a bit different for me.

As dezireey said, you'll get child benefit and child tax credits. You'll only get working tax credits if you work at least 16 hours a week. If you work you also get a percentage of child care costs (can't remember off hand what that percentage is).

If you're not working you should get income support and I imagine your rent would be paid for you xx

£80 cb
£250(ish) ctc
income support £120 every two weeks
housing benefit (varies by area, £500 2 bed house here)
Council tax (fully paid, whatever it is)
healthy start vouchers (12.40 per month, in four vouchers)
free prescriptions (dental, doctors, eyes)

plus any maintenance your ex partner should pay you

Also if you want to study (im 22) i get 95% of my childcare paid for.

um... i think thats about it! this is based on someone with £0 income, £0 savings.
it may vary on your circumstances.

Great thanks girls really helped me understand :) x
