hey,

thanks to everyone who answered my saliva question.
its so nice to have this forum bec i dont have anyone but my husband to talk to, we are not telling at this stage, prefer to keep it quiet. so i have a few questions:

does anyone feel like their morning sickness takes on a hundred different varieties? i was feeling very nauseous all the time now i am feeling like something is stuck in the throat all the time? is this indigestion?

secondly- did anyone else eat very very little during the first couple of months- although i have been feeling less queasy the past 48 hours i still dont have any appetite. i am worried the baby only gets junk like bread or chips cos its all i can eat!

I totally understand we arent telling anyone yet either.....
As far as morning sickness, I have had waves of nauseousness here and there with no vomiting, sometimes I think it would be better to just throw up now I get that feeling in my throat here and there too. But the worst is an overall BAD feelling kind of a fizzy all over my head feels like its floating and I am extreamly tired sometimes slightly dizzy too!!! Vey weird I havent been able to work out the past two days I feel so weird... As far as food I can snack through the day but have a hard time with dinner so I worry about the same thing as you but at this point you really cant force yourself to eat or do anythings that feels bad just make sure you take your vitamins!!!! I have a felling soon enough we will be eating plenty. Congrats t you and good luck:hugs:

Haha, it's funny but how you're feeling at the beginning is how I'm feeling now! I had a pretty easy first trimester as far as sickness and tiredness is concerned and now they've both hit me with a BANG! I'm sick atleast 3 times a day, it's horrible! I can only eat bread and junk too, I started taking pregnacare to make sure I was getting the stuff I needed :)

try tangerines or satsumas - I'm loving them! even when i'm feeling sicky!

I can't eat anything Orange anymore! The taste just isn't the same :|

i cant eat chicken anymore
before i got pregnant i used to be such a meat eater! i would eat meat almost everyday of the week. now i cant stand chicken, and eat so little meat.

i had an oranges phase but its over now :hi:
i know this sounds dramatic but i feel like i have some sort of eating disorder i just try not think about food and how it makes me feel. i know its just pregnancy but sometimes its so hard and i feel like eating or not eating is taking over!!

I feel the same! I thought my sickness phase would be gone now :(

I've lost about 10 pounds this first trimester cause I haven't been able to eat much, it's not a big deal, a lot of people have that happen. I hear ya on the MS, it's icky and always feels...different.

I had the same problem with oranges. Just getting back on to them now.

The stuck in the throat feeling could be indigestion as I'm also getting this now. Does it feel like it's burning at all? And does it get worse after you lie down/eat?

sometimes it feels like burning acid
but mostly it just feels like i had something stuck in my throat.
i just wish i had some appetite back besides for cereal and toast!
my poor husband - i haven't been in the kitchen for ages it just makes me feel sick. i was thinking maybe i should try push myself to eat some foods like little bits- maybe some of it is just psychological?

what u guys think?

I found the above really interesting. Sickness is good for you!
It also explains people's aversion to meat.

Hi Cupcake! The feeling of something stuck in your throat sounds like "indigestion" which is so common during pregnancy. It's hard to control but you can try eating slower and making sure you're sitting up for at least 2 hours after eating. Sometimes we just have to put up with it. As for the loss of appetite that's ok too as long as you are eating something and taking your prenatal tabs if you have been prescribed any. I lost weight in my 1st tri because I was so sick and didn't eat much. Your doc will monitor your weight and let you know if anything seems odd.

The throat thing I used to get and it could get so bad it would wake me up, so I started taking gaviscon and that sorted that out!

As for your appetite, without sounding horrible your baby is like a parasite whilst inside you, and will take everything it needs from you so you really do not have to worry. Your baby will not go without! :hugs:x

i felt very nauseous during 1st trimester (but i was never sick) especially around 7 - 14 weeks it came in waves, i used to get home from work and go to bed without a meal because i couldnt face the smell let alone eat it!! i snacked a lot on grapes and toast!!! people commented on how id lost weight it was great bcoz i was pregnant and noone knew!! so they got a shock when i told them after our scan!
Try not to worry about your baby getting enough because it'll be fine and hopefully the horrible feelings with pass and you'll get your appetite back xx
