Someone is poking my uterus! weird pain

Hi girls,

I'm 9 weeks pregnant and the I had a horrible migraine for about 24 hours ( I blamed that on the fact that I had to change my prenatal vitamins two days ago ), when i was able to finally get off from bed today at noon I noticed a bit of a sharp pain on my abdomen low on the left side, almost like of someone was poking my uterus a bit, it has been there all day and I'm starting to worry there may be something wrong.

I've had cramps ocasionally pretty much since 4 weeks and no bleeding so far, I also had an internal scan at 6w that showed lil bean and a hb. I had 3 mcs 10 years ago and one in January all very early 4-5w and now I'm on progesterone 200 mg daily.

I'm thinking maybe I should call my doctor tomorrow since my appointment will be until next week.

Has anyone experienced something like this at 9 weeks? I'm a bit nervous

I am nine weeks too and am having pains like period pains. But everything I have read says it is the uterus stretching and the tendons round it. I think it is normal, even the poking. Your bean is growing fast right now and everything is pushing to make space. I read that after seeing a hb your chances of mc go way down to 3% so relax if you can, (not easy I know) and ask your DR for help if you have any spotting or the pain gets worse. Good luck.

When you say 'belly' are you talking quite high up, ie around your belly button? Your uterus is still low, down in your pelvis.

I am suffering from quite bad constipation and I am getting headaches and pains that I am 100% are to do with that. I remember getting really sharp pains in my right side with my 2nd and my midwife told me that as the uterus grows other organs, mainly the intenstines are squashed and can get kinks and pains in them. This is what my pain was.

I've read about that too I did read that if you've had previous mcs your chances of a mc are a bit higher 17.5% after seeing a hb which is still better than the high number before the hb

I forgot the word abdomen lol it is low, near the pubic area on my pelvis left side.

Could it be the constipation then? I don't feel constipated but a bit bloated and I barely drink any water, I don't go to the toilet as I used to tho it could be definitely that

I am almost 12 weeks and I can tell you that you will feel some weird things.

I felt something weird around my belly button a few times.

I felt stabbing like pains in my actual female area. Not above it.

I felt dull aches like my period was coming.

I felt groin muscle pains

I felt lower aches and cramps on left and right sides.

I felt poking pains in my belly.


Its all normal - as long as it's not bad or severe pain following by bleeding you are okay.

I've had 3 scans now. My last was 10w 5days. Heart is strong and baby is active.

Thank you well at least I know this is just the beginning lol I just wish i could go through it without being so nervous about everything.

I do have my next scan in a week, and I'll be 10w by then, also noticed that the pain eases when I'm in bed so I'll just rest more and freak out less

I know what you mean I would love to be someone who just got pregnant and enjoyed it, no worrying at all, but if you PAL it is much harder to get that. I have a scan next week too at 10w, I think we can relax more after every scan. I don´t feel pregnant at all today, seems so hard to believe some days.

I agree with you, definitely a scan gives us reassurance that everything is oing fine. The 2nd trimester should be better tho, it just seems that at the begining everything can go wrong and without a bump and no symptoms sometimes is hard to feel still pregnant crazy stuff.

I didn't notice we are both 9+2 yay!
