I just wanted to make a thread again about this yeast infection bullshit. I wanted to let everyone know that canesten is a waste of time. it doesn't make the infection go away 100% and I called my doctor and she said that monistat is better to take and that it is safe to use. So I called motherisk to be safe, and I was told that it is 100% safe to use at such a low dose. So I just wanted to let everyone know and hope that in the future if you have a yeast infection (and I hope you don't have to go through this) that it is completely safe to use monistat and the recommended dose is the 7 day pack.

Thanx for the info megan. I am prone to yeast infections and will make sure to use monistat if I get one.

No problem! :) I am prone to them too, I used to get them alot prior to getting pregnant. And now I got a horrible one. The canesten did take most of the burning and the inflammation down. However, I'd rather monistat. I have always used monistat and it always took the infection out every single time. The canes oral doesn't even work for me (when not pregnant - I know it's not safe with being preggo). Sorry I am blabbering I just wanted to help :p

Thank you!! I've been wondering about this. It's good to know it's safe to use!!

Thanks Megan. I hope you feel better soon... I know yeast infections are really annoying.

Anytime! The person I spoke to explained to me that while there is defects in animals (a bone deficiency in mice was found with their studies) we need to look at if there is any problems when taken during pregnancy in humans. He said there has been no defects when used in pregnant women, since we are using such a small dose it is 100% safe. They tested in over 2000 women. So very glad that I could help! :)
