Son's BMs are far and few between and seem more like formula-fed BMs?

My son is almost 2 months old and has been EBF since birth. We did have to give him formula between May 20th-23rd when I had to go in for emergency gallbladder removal. I hadn't anticipated it, and hadn't started pumping and storing so there was nothing else to give him but the formula samples we had gotten from the formula companies. As soon as I was able to, we started right back up with breast feeding and have had no problems since then.

At the early weeks his poop was yellow and seedy like it was supposed to be. His BMs started to taper off and got farther and farther apart and became more like stains and less like actual poop. His wet diapers have been consistent and he seems satisfied after nursing so I know he's getting enough.

After feeding him the formula for those three days he had a massive poop that was like chocolate had melted in his diaper. Then he went back to his usual yellow stain in his diaper kind of poop.

Well today he had another "chocolate melted in his diaper" kind of poop, but he hasn't had formula since I had my surgery.

Is this normal? I thought his poop was supposed to be yellow and seedy for as long as he's breast fed?

And he can go about two weeks between a serious BM. Today was the first real poop in almost two weeks. That's normal too, right? I know they can go awhile without pooping, but two weeks seems excessive to me and OH isn't convinced that it's okay for a baby to go two weeks without making a good BM.

Some BF babies when slightly older develop darker and former stools especially if they have skipped quite a few days inbetween, it's completely within the range of normal. It's normal for seedy bits to disappear as their bodies mature and are able to digest all the fat in the milk. Skipping two weeks isn't as common but it is still normal and not unhealthy for them to go that long (or longer in some cases) xx

That is normal here with Sophie, she was like that from 6 weeks. Her poo was always at least 10 days apart and pretty solid.
