Sorry don't mean to scare but I had a bright red bleed UPDATE! SCAN WAS AMAZING ;)

I also have a blood clot which causes me to bleed every night and sometimes during the day. I haven't had any pain but it was worrying me so I went in and everything seems to be ok. I have still been bleeding since then, but my doctor said all is fine, just to rest up. It seems to happen more at night for me. Good luck!

Thankyou so much Ripkinsmommy, thats a real worry for you I can imagine.

I just got back from my Doc who was very positive. Told me we couldnt do a lot until the scan but to rest up and to stay positive. He said that bleeding isn't uncommon and certainly doesn't always mean a MC. He also reminded me that they only normally worry its an MC is theres the bleeding and the pain. He said go and try to relax and have a lovely weekend. Don't go back to work until after the scan soooooooooo thats what I shall do and FX that I dont have any pain or another big bleed.

TY so much for all the answers, it really helps to hear that people get through this and that lots do still carry their babies.

*hugs n hugs*

:hugs:
It's scary hun but the doc is right it's really common to bleed on and off esp during early preg. I bled with all 3 of mine, was due to a cervical abrasion.

Rest up and get hubby to pamper you:hugs:

I hope you are managing not to worry. I think it is a good sign you aren't cramping. I wonder if the bleed is from the neck of the womb instead of the pregnancy. Hormone changes in pregnancy can make the cervix red and juicy and can bleed. Had you had sex the night before cause this could irritate the cervix. I had red/ pink discharge earlier this week but it settled next day, thinking of youxx

Lucky4 thanks sweety, just had a wee sniffle then pulled myself together again and brining back teh positive power. I am still not cramping, just some waterey discharge which has dark brown bits in, I dunno weak dark brown not at all bloody like the very very end of your period is. Unfortunately we havent had sex been too scared as we only found out a few days and its our first. But hopefully it is comming from elsewhere like that.

Mummy3 lovely thankyou I can almost FEEL those hugs from you XX

:hugs:

I know how scary it is when you see bleeding hun, but there are a number of reasons to bleed in early pregnancy, and its far more common than you think! Do your best to rest this weekend, wont be easy I know but you really need to try!

I bled super heavy with Joshua (although in the later stages) but it doesnt matter when it happens, its scary, but Joshua was fine and went full term :)

Thinking of you and sending you lots of love xxxxxxx

Hey Tonnilou - glad there are so many women here with all this wonderful feedback about bleeding. Wish I had person experience to help you with, but just a :hugs: from me.

Hoping everything is fine, and I think it will be since it seems to have stopped, no pain etc.
The plus side of waiting for the scan, is that you should have a good chance of seeing the hb... it would be hard to get the scan, be told everything 'looks ok' but know that since they don't see a hb yet that there is still reason to worry, you know?
There's still a chance you might not see it, but by 6 weeks you have a much better chance so FX'd!

awww TY Lisa love and it all helps loads, just knowing that people are thinking of you is amazing. I totally know what you mean about the scan, am still not sure what to expect but am praying and hoping that they can tell me something hopefully positive. XX

Ok so I was absolutely bricking it at bedtime convinced the same thing would happen tonight BUT fortunately I slept for 12 hours and woke up a couple of times ad all was ok, just that watered down ever so slightly brown tinged discharge PHEW! Still no cramps and have had a bit of an achey back but thats all over and only mild and am sure thats more tension theTBH. Sooooooooo I dunno, am praying its one of those mysterious bleeds or a clot or somethings thats going to make it all ok. Seems like a long arsed wait till my scan on Monday and of course am still insanely worried about that. Anyhoo just wanted to update on the story so far.

Love n hugs to all and thankyou for the support it means so much to me.

hey Tonnilou....I too had a big gush of bright red blood @ 7W1D and everything was fine. It is very scary but they say it is common to bleed in 1st tri. No cramping is a good sign and anything brown my Dr told me is old blood. Best of luck yo you!! xo

:hugs: Bleeding in pregnancy sucks!

I started spotting bright red blood around 5 weeks and it continued every day till about 10 weeks! Sometimes it would change to brown but alot of the time it was red! I had an ultrasound at 7 weeks + 5 days and all was perfectly fine. There was no evidence of a subchorionic hematoma of the ultrasound so my source of bleeding is likely from my cervical erosision! And yes pregnancy causes alot of extra blood to go to cervix and in some women just going to the bathroom or sneezing can cause it to bleed... Fortunatly bleeding cervixes have no negative effect on the baby so hopefully that's the case with you too.

:hugs:

Thanks for posting this thread, I had a gush of red blood this morning. It's now all stopped, not even any brown discharge! Had some mild stomach pains, not really cramps more like trapped gas I think. I've seen the doc at the walk in centre, she told me to try and relax and see my doc on Monday.

I've been really worried but this thread has given me hope that it all might still be ok. Been taking by bbt still and it's above my cover line, no dips and a Hpt was a strong +ve so praying that every thing will be ok, will remember you in my prayers too.

Thankyou lalalulu *big hugs* it is so scary but its a relief to hear that others have had a similar experience and that all is fine.

Kandykinx aww thankyou very reassuring words and I am hoping its something like that too. Glad your bleeding has stopped now phew! *big hugs*

Merry its so scary isnt it, I am so glad this has helped you feel a little bit better. Am glad you havent had anything else, I figure my brown bits are just the residue working their way through. Really hope your Doc can reassure you too. I will send you all my positive vibes too. *big hugs*

Thankyou all so much for taking the time to reply.

Just wanted to wish u all the best for Monday hope u manage to rest up hun x

Good luck on your scan!! :hugs: Plenty of women experience bleeds in early pregnancy and it's a good sign that you haven't had any pain or excessive cramping associated with it.

Thankyou so much Wudluvanuva1 and Aragornlover. I am surely resting up and the hubby is being great. We are sending as many positive vibes as we can and are definately reassured by the fact that so far no pain or cramps and no more fresh blood or big blood. FX that continues and BIG BIG hugs to you both lovely ladies XXX

Popping in from Third tri, hope you don't mind :)

I got my BFP when I was 5+2. Later that night I had a bright red gush, like you, it felt like how it does when you're on your period. It was just that one gush. Then it tappered off to brown and only when I wiped. At 5+6 the same happened again, it felt like I had come on. I had no pain at all and no clots.

I went to A&E and had a scan that afternoon. Everything was fine, there was a fetal pole and a hb :) She could not really see any reason for the bleed. She said it might have been omplantation bleeding, basically where bubs is getting very cosy!! Or it could have been from a small haemorrage she noticed in my gestationalsac.

To cut it short, I am still here in third tri, did';t bleed again after that 2nd episode once the brown spotting tappered away.

Good luck, I really hope all is ok :) x x x
