Sorry, I'm post happy today: Do you like YOUR name?

i was never keen on my name,i dont know why, all seemed a bit plain, mine is Catherine. although i was going to be a victoria which i wouldnt have wanted either!.
for some reason when i was younger i always wanted to be called Nicole!

Some great names ladies - giving me ideas lol.

I don't mind my name - Jenny.
Although growing up was annoying with Forest Gump quotes ' JENNNNAAAAY, I LOVE YOU JENNNAY ' Grrrrr....!! Lol.

I hate my name, I actually considered getting it changed by deed poll, but couldnt pick a name I liked

Sasha - I always got picked on at school because of my name, it's a Russian mans name, shortened from Alexander :(

I've grown to like my name - Natalia. Especially as I lived in a bunch of different countries - it is a good international name, also not too childish for the time you get a degree. No middle name though, even though I would have liked to have one.

I'm also trying to find international names for my kids as they come from a trilingual background.

Guess I can't really complain about my names - Jessica Lynn.

My (very southern) parents back in Arkansas always pronounced my first name like "Jeskuh," and here in Germany, it's pronounced like "Yes-ee-ka," which was a bit odd to get used to at first. I haven't really got a problem with my middle name, as it's the same as my mum's.

I have never really liked my name - Sharon.

When I was younger I always wished I was called my middle name instead which is Louise.

I love my name (Francesca) - it's traditional Italian but when I was a child it was very rare in the UK so it was lovely having such an usual name. I think it sounds nice and feminine too.

When I first met my husband and he asked my name, when I told him it was Francesca he said "wow that's the most beautiful name i've ever heard" Bless him, still makes me smile now :)

I love my name now though in the past I didn't like it because I got picked on at school because of it. My name is Chrystal and I was the only person in the whole 2 schools that I went to called that so people decided to make fun of me because of it.

Now though I have learned to love my name and im glad my mum called me Chrystal instead of some other common name. I like being different now :)

I really dont mind my name 'Emily' But Its more of a little girl or old womans name - not a 30 year olds.

I dont mind my name, Janine. I think its quite old fashioned and uncommon. My dad chose my name. Of course, I get the eastenders comparision jokes all too much!

oh thats one of my fave names!

Aww thanks.

if we had a girl i wanted to call her Emily, the only thing that stopped me is when my husband said, "you know it will be shortened to Em?", im not keen on people saying Em, so in the end we have agreed if we have a girl we'll go for Bethany (Beth)

My real name is Amanda which has always sounded a bit long and officious to me. Years ago my nickname was Mandy Moo (I was Mandy as a child for whatever reason???) but for donkeys years now I have been known only as 'Moo', which I love and no-one ever forgets my name!

i love my name, chloe, i was the only one in my year at school with the name. my sister named me and told my mother i wasnt allowed to go home with out that name lol

i also love my traditional welsh middle name, myfannwy, all my family have welsh name/s. even though people still dont know how to say my middle name and still have a giggle when i say it i still love it and have it tattoed on my foot :) x x

My family used my middle name Susan (and still do) and I hate it- it's such a middle aged name and I'm only 21!

When I was eighteen I started using my first name; Elizabeth and now I go as Ellie which I really like.

My name is so so. My parents named me Maria as they wanted a name that couldn't be shortened. So as soon as I could speak when someone asked my name I was Ria :haha:

It was great in primary shool as I was the only one. But in secondary school I went into a class with a Marie, and a Maree and then me. No idea who's stupid idea that was but it caused chaos. Then as a teen there was another Maria in my group of friends so we used our surnames to make us different.

To the outside world I'm Maria, but the people closest to me call me Ria.
