Who suffered with this and did you get anything to help it I haven't slept properly for few weeks so tired and in pain, all doctor said was take paracetamol tablets 4 times a day, really need some advice

I had it with last pg, and again (sooner) with this one... MW referred to physio, got a sheet of exercises, a support belt (which I can only use when standing, sitting its bloody uncomfortable) and crutches, and told to go on my way!

Sleeping with a pillow between my knees helps at night, but basically was told to just lump it :(:( Bloody agony isn't it! !

Hey
I hav suffered from 18 weeks so I feel for u.
Best thing for me has been serola pelvic belt which I wear every day...has made life bearable again. Also gym ball, core exercises, pillow between knees at night and resting..no walking or exercising. I do swim when possible though as physio said it ok provided no breast stroke legs!
Have also spent a fortune on heat pads and different types of pillows.
Still go through nights where I cant sleep due to pain but have a found a woman to do pregnancy massage on hips and helps too.
Hope u find something that helps u as its very tough and can get u down xx

I suffered for both my previous pregnancies, and did nothing as no one told me there were any options!

I will be going to see a chiropractor this time, a friend of a friend has told me that they can work wonders. (find one that specializes in pregnancy adjustments). I will also try a support belt.

No meds to take to help the pain if thats what your after.
I suffered from 24-41w last time in 09 and nothing was given to me or no help.
Its started playing up already, mw referred me to physio but says they dont give out support belts as they dont help according to her.
Ill be buying a support belt though.

Physio did same thing as pp minus any crutches. I second the pillow between legs thing-it's the only thing I've found that helps.

Hope it's better soon :flower:

I had it pretty bad. If you're suffering at night you should try a maternity slide sheet like the Snoozle, it's wonderful

I had it last time and i was given co-codamol and a support belt.
I can feel it coming on now at 22wk im dreading it getting worse

I had a spinal fusion a year ago and so I expect some pain in my back, hips, pelvis and legs but this pain has been outrageous! :( I feel your pain.... doing the log roll to move in bed or to get up is definitely helpful (challenging but helpful). My PT recommended short walks to try to keep the aches/pains at bay. The more that you lay dormant, the worse the pain gets. :(

I have also just spoken with my midwife about this today, I have had the pain for about 6-7 weeks but now it really hurts.

I did not have it with my last two pregnancies but every time is different, its hard to explain to OH tho that this is what I'm going through because he will probs think Im over exaggerating because its not happened before.

Anyway I have been referred to a physio and will see what they say I hope what they say helps..

Same here, had 24 week appointment with midwife this morning and she has referred me to physio, said I will need a support belt. She showed me how to get in and out of the car, in and out of bed, also said I was rest when ever possible I am not allowed to use the hoover or push or pull anything regardless of its weight.

Yes our health trust doesn't fund belts so thats why I had to buy myself....but honestly worth every penny!

I can't believe how many people are suffering as I had never heard of it before and hard to explain to ppl when they see me struggling to walk!

I never heard of it till I came to this forum and I swear it must be catching because I didn't have it with either of my other two pregnancies. Thankfully, while it can be very painful, especially when in bed, getting up and first moving around, it's not crazy bad. My doctor told me to get a support belt, see a chiro, one who specializes in pregnancy, he even gave me a name of someone and make sure to do light exercises, but don't overdo it. If it hurts, stop. I do a lot of stretching and try to get in at least a short walk every day.

I guess I have it too although I haven't yet got the chance to speak to my doctor. it's not crazy bad though, still endurable. It only hurts when I want to change position when I sleep, getting on/ off bed, sometimes while changing clothes.... I guess this is what I have, right?
I am only 24W now, hope it won't get worse....! Nobody near me who got pregnant before got this so I was pretty worried until I researched and found it shouldn't be harmful to the pregnancy except you have to bear the pain... and that it should be relieved after delivery...

Thank you ever so much still hurting a lot not much sleep don't have midwife for couple of weeks how long after telling them do you hear from the physio team

I got urgent referal as was so bad...but told no appts for 10 weeks! So I complained to health trust and magically got an appt 2 weeks later after I had paid for 1 private session.

Honestly though I find my physio useless.. she's not very nice! I sit on ball and do stretcehes/ exercises and try and manage it as best I can! Just want to remain on physio list so can get further treatment after birth if needed x

Also just came across this!

https://birthfaith.org/do-it-yourself/got-lecithin

Not sure but might be worth a go - eggs it is!!!

had it with DS1 and DS2, but not until after 30 weeks; nothing worked before - not even chiropractic.

this time around, it hit around 14 weeks, so i decided to give the Belly Band with the groin straps a shot this time around (since it hit so early on, i was feeling desperate when i ordered it). took the kids out today with a friend and had to do a bit of walking while wearing them - i really think the bands actually helped! i wasn't pain-free, but i am certainly doing better than i would have without them. i think i'll be wearing them any time i have to walk a bit from here out.

that said, i know everyone's different, and i know that won't work for everyone. huge :hugs: SPD sucks!!!

Thanks everyone im 4 months on sunday and still in pain not getting much sleep either got 2 weeks yet before midwife

i got my letter for physio turns out its a little group session to educate and give advice, feels pointless to me i know what i need to know off last pregnancy.
