Hi

I've been looking into the various Spectra pumps for a while now, in a lot of cases they seem to get better reviews than Medela (such as on amazon), are very cheap and I know in far Eastern countries like Korea and Malaysia they are used in hospitals (their hospital grade model is only £91 to buy!) and are the main brand recommended/hired by lactation consultants. They are not a closed system but you can buy a special filter valve that makes them so (and the hospital grade one comes with it automatically). The main drawback is their pumps look quite chunky and ugly. I am really tempted; heard they are extremely durable as well. I'm not one to go for brands if there is something lesser known that is better, thats why I bought the nuk manual and I'm extrmely pleased with that, can get out more than an electric pump with it, and lots of hindmilk, but its just the hand ache thats offputting after a while! So is it worth going for?
