Hi All

my OH did his SA on friday....then had to take it to the hospital...

They didnt ask him to keep it warm or anything, just said bring in within 2 hours

Has anyone else had these done....what do they tell you afterwards?

xx:hug:

my hubby has done two so far and both times dr told him to keep it warm and get it to the hospital asap. He wasn't told anything after until the results came through first time was told it was ok - could be better. Second time wasn't good at all!

My DH has an app. for a SA next week. Because we live more than an hour away from the hospital we've been told he has to give the sample at the hospital. He's not very happy about this as he says he feels really under pressure :cloud9:

We've been told to get to the hospital within the hour, keep it at body temp, abstain from sex for 2-3 days and try to avoid alcohol for 2-3 days (this isn't going to happen as his sisters wedding is 2 days before!)

Good luck!!

Definitely get it to the hospital sooner. We have always been told to get it in there within 20mins and to keep it warm.

Also have an exact 3 day abstainence, no more and no less...this will give the most accurate result.

When you get the results, they will mostly concentrate on telling you the count, motility and morphology.

Good luck
xx

Keep it warm under his armpit or tuck in his waistband. We have to have ours there within 90 mins, although due to where we live we have to produce it at the hosp so it's there within 10 mins normally.

Huummmm thats weird as they didnt tell him that at all - so he just put it in the envelope and off he went :(

we last BD on the monday and then he did the sample friday morning...

doesnt sound good tho if he was suppose to keep it warm

My hospital said it had to be there within 30 minutes and then just to ring for the results and make an appointment with my GP to discuss them!!

One month later and NO test results ... im pregnant lol!!

I'm sure you dont need to worry about the temperature. The weather is that warm anyway that I'm sure it wont be a problem or make much difference - it's when you're taking it there in the winter that there's more of a risk of it getting too cold.

where else can we get a SA done if the doctors dont seem to give you the right info?

I wish that would happen for me :)
