Sperm lifespan

So every site I read basically says something different. Anywhere from 3 days... some say 5 and some say 7. Has anyone asked their doctor how long sperm can live inside your body?

Following...I’ve seen the same. I think most live around 3 days with 5-7 being on the longer side. We bd’d somewhere between 2-4 days before O so I’ve beem obsessing over the same thing.

My doctor said it depends on the conditions. Around ovulation it is the best condition for sperm so they can live 5 to 7 days but he recommends BDing every 2 days to make sure you cover all the days. At the start of ovulation, just before and just after then 2 days.

My partner and I conceived our second baby when DTD 7 days before ovulation (monitored by ultrasounds because I was going through a series of tests at the time, so this is 100% sure on dates). My doctor told me that 7 days is rare and is probably the absolute maximum, but most of the time, sperm won't make it past 5 days.
