Sperm migration test results changing dramatically?

Good afternoon ladies,

I wondered whether anyone had experience of the results of a sperm migration test changing dramatically? My husband had a test in August last year (he had two as we were under a different hospital and the first didn't trust the second. His results were 1.8 then 5.5.

He had another test in January and his results were I think 2.4.

Why do they vary so much?! As I understand it they need to be over 5 to be deemed 'normal'? Is that correct?

Ah ok as I understand it it is related to sperm motility? The way in which it swims e.g. sluggishly? x
