Hello ladies. I thought I'd post here, as many people don't stop progesterone until close to the end of first tri (which is where i am - at 11 weeks today)

I called my Dr about a week ago, as I was going on vacation, and my prescription was going to run out while I was gone (should have been done yesterday)

Anyhow - they told me no worries, to just let it run out and I wouldn't need to refill the bottle after this. I also did some research, and many people weaned themselves at 10 weeks, skipping a day or 2 to lower the dose over time.

That said, while I was on vacation, I missed one pill, then took 2, then missed 2. I think I have 2 or 3 left. Anyhow - I had planned on taking it yesterday, but after driving for 11 hours home, and being exhausted, and the pills packed in a bag, I was too tired to get them and figured i'd be ok since I was down to the last couple to skip one more.

This meant Friday and Saturday no suppository. just now, I went to the bathroom, and saw some pink/orange tinged CM. I'm a bit worried, of course, but trying to calm my nerves, as I have been researching the web, and it seems common to spot a bit. My appt is tomorrow with the Dr so I will talk to him then, and I'll take another one of the pills tonight, but can any of you put my mind at ease a bit more? It's scary after 2 losses. Trying to remain grounded, but can't help but be worried.

Thanks!

Tina

Sorry, I have no experience with progesterone. If you're really worried, why don't you give your doctor a call now--for peace of mind?

I also took progesterone early in my pregnancy due to prior losses and stopped them at 11 weeks without any issues so I have no idea about spotting. Just give a call to your doctor.

Wish I had proper advice. I was on progesterone during the first tri but I still bled and spotted even while being on it, I kept taking it till maybe 14 or 15 weeks until my last one ran out. Best thing you could do is contact your doctor and maybe go for a check up. They should be able to tell you if you should keep going or stop or if maybe the spotting is not actually caused by taking less progesterone.

I'm on progesterone and had two cases of spotting. Both times all was fine thankfully. Once was after sex and was a small pinkish bleed. Went to the Emergency room and was given a scan and an internal. the second time it was literally one spot. My doc performed internal, listened to heartbeat & sent me again for a scan.

I was glad i got it checked out and was told both times it was the right thing to do.

Best of luck
K
