St Mary's Hospital, Manchester

I'm just after a bit od advice regarding where to go.

We have our appointment on Tuesday to sign the papers and discuss the results of my recent tests.

I've just re-read our appointment letters.

It says that our appointment is at the Dept of reproductive medicine, out patient clinic.

It then goes on to say that on arrival we should use the main entrance and follow the signs to the Dept of reproductive medicine.

Am I still using the main entrance to the old part of the hospital as I have previously or is it directing me to the new main entrance?

I'm now confused!!!

I know there have been many changes recently and the department has changed since I went for the initial tests back in October so I was wondering if anyone had been for their appointment recently.

Hiya, I don't know if I am of any help, but I think that from my appt letter it is in the same place you went for bloods and scan (if there was loads of works going on) I am going to see FS at St Mary's in Jan, so it would be good if you could let me know how you get on!!! Good luck!!!

Hey ladies, Well we went for our follow up appointment this morning.

She told me once and for all that I did have PCOS which I always thought I did until my gyne at Wythenshawe told me that I was silly for even thinking so.

At least I have a diagnosis. However on the downside, despite ringing and asking for a SA some weeks ago and being told that DP didn't need one, they have now said that without this we cannot sign the papers and start treatment as they don't know what his sperm is like!

So he's got a pot and we've got a follow up appointment for the end of January.

She also asked for my smear test results and as they still show a minor abnormality she has to discuss whether they can offer treatment or not.

So not a bad appointment all in all but I sort of feel like I'm back to square one again.

I have to say that the new unit is very nice indeed and actually warm and welcoming unlike the other part which I found really dark and cold.

If anyone wants to know then you access the department from a small entrance on Oxford Road and then follow the green signs as normal.When you come in you have the blood rooms so walk past these and follow the corridor right down to the big stair case and there is a dedicated reception at the bottom of these stairs. All the consultation rooms and scan rooms are up these big stairs.
