Have morning off work and have reverted back to looking at baby things!

Came across this name and think i might actually quite like it not sure if OH will or not though - what do you think?

TBH I'm not a huge fan of it, but I don't dislike it iygwim?

It just doesn't do anything for me!
I do prefer Stan to Stanley though

Im not a big fan of it but i dont hate it. Iv only ever met one person called stan though so its good that its not too common

xx

TBH I never really liked it, until I bumped into a girl that I used to go to school with and she had a little boy of 2 called Stanley, and he was so cute :flower:. I think it has a lot to do with name association. I actually like it now . xx

I really like Stanley but couldn't use it as I just can't see myself with a son called Stanley :(

Stanley is our back up name....I'm not as keen on it as OH but I think its a lovely name.

Not too babyish or silly and cans ound like a childs name AND an adult.

Far too many people have names that just dont suit adults.

mmm, sorry but im just not a fan of this name...think its just that 'Stan' is a bit bland..??

its a very grown up name i think (not necessarily a bad thing), doesnt do anything for me but i dont DISlike it!

My husband is called Stanley and everyone but his parents call him Stan.

Stanley is becoming quite a popular name again: when I was teaching in various schools, I met a few parents who'd named their new offspring this; also there are a couple of TV personalities with children with this name.

If you like it, go with it and the less common a name is the better IMO.

I love it! We are having Sidney which is similar in style. We will call him Sid. It goes really well with our surname which is a 'S'. My MIL keeps getting mixed up between Stan and Sid

I think it's cute! Reminds me of the book 'Flat stanley' which was one of my favourites as a kid!

Stanley I find is a very old school name. I have only ever known one Stanley and we called him Stan he was my grandparents best friend and the cutest man in the world. However the name for me does not do anything for me.

I love it, suggested it to my DH not so long ago, but it wasn't for him, but I love it

I love it, one of my faves for a boy too. I have an ex-colleague with a little boy called this and he is an angel! It's a bit like Grace and George I think, one of those old names that skipped a couple of generations and is trendy again.

OH actually likes it! My mum doesn't but sure would grow on her

Flat Stanley rules!! I always used to want something to fall on me so that I could get posted on holiday!!

I quite like the name. Freya used to watch a programme on Disney Playhouse called Stanley, about this kid who was mad on animals... They called him Stanimal. :)
