Star or Angel on top of the tree?

What do you have on the top of your tree? We have an angel because our tree when I was growing up always had an angel, but hubby had a star and he whines that it's not right having an angel. So... I looked at the christmas tree thread and sure enough, there's loads of stars! What do you have and why?

We have a star, no preference over the two its just i got a beautiful star in France a few years ago and i always put it on top of my tree

I have a lovely star - I got it a few years ago from woolies, i've never seen a star as lovely!!! I did want an angel but could never find one that i liked - they all looked tacky to me!!!

I do have a gorgeous angel decoration which I hang right at the top of my tree which is for my nanna so she can enjoy christmas looking over us!!

You do see lots of gorgeous stars, I think I might do a star next year and put my getting-a-bit-tatty angel away. I agree that there's not many nice angels available... I wonder if that's why stars have got more popular... hmmmmm.

Angel, we always had one on our tree when i was younger. Mum and Dad told us that the angel watches over you to see if you have been a good girl and tells santa, so i just stuck with it and tell Chloe the same!

angel on one downstairs, it was a one my mam bought in about 1995 an never took out of the box so i stole it for my tree haha, its a tradtitional one with a gold dress, not a tacky one lol, i couldnt find a nice one anywhere now!
On bedroom tree i have a star i bought it in marbella afew years ago and its all weaved and nice, but im not allowed it on downstairs tree

We have a star because OH went shopping when we first got the tree and Amanda begged him to get a star.

I personally like angels as that's what we had on our tree while growing up.

Next year, I am changing all the ornaments as I want all blue ones next year...so may also get an angel for the top of the tree.

When I lived at home we had a ball with a big stick on top I never really got it so when I moved I was dead set on having an angel!

We have an angel. My parents got it as a wedding gift in 1985, lol, and it's been on our tree every year. From the way she looks I can tell someone with class/$$ bought it for my parents.. wonder who it was hahah.
