Starting acupuncture - anyone else?

I got AF on Friday and was just in tears... I think we actually conceived this month even though I didn't get a BPF (just That Feeling, you know? Plus I was five days overdue, and I'm never that late on the luteal end).

I called up an acupuncture clinic - got a good recommendation from a friend-of-a-friend, and I figure why not? My OH isn't real keen on Western fertility clinics, and I have to admit I'm not, either. I've heard some really great things about acupuncture.

Anyone else in the process of giving it a try?

Hi ten - Me and Oh had been trying over two years - the month I got my first ever bfp I'd started acupuncture and reflexology - I really think it helped - sadly it was a loss but I'm starting it again once I get my AF and we start TTC again - hopefully next two or three weeks.

I literally started both once a week at the start of the cycle I conceived!!

iv been thinking of it too, how much does it cost? iv got health care plan with my work and i get up to £250 pounds back for things like acupuncture etc so think i might give it a go. and when in a cycle would you go xx

hi hun i think it depends on your local acupuncturist the one near us is £38 per session they advise about 6 sessions + depending on personal needs, weekly if possible then any persciption of herbs cost anywhere £10-£40 our advice was to start on cd 1 but they said it doesnt really matter they can work around you xx
i googled our acupncturist fortunatly ours is fertility specialist you might have one near you xx

thanks, iv found one near and it says infertility so im assuming they will help then, gunna have a good look about first though, maybe start it next cycle xxx

I started at the beginning of last cycle and have been THRILLED with the results. If nothing else it made me feel less stressed about TTC, more in control, less hormonal, no PMS WHATSOEVER!!! Brought forward ov and lengthened my LP!!!!
I would also highly recommend the book "The Infertility Cure" by Randine Lewis. Amazing and explains how acu relates to fertility etc. Brilliant stuff.

There is also a whole thread on here with loads of girls trying acu/traditional chinese medicine....The Really Useful TCM thread I think.
