Im not 35 till february... but I thought id still plop myself in this part of the forum!

I just had a BFN..... BUT, Im ok with that, think I got myself a bit carried away.

AF has just arrived and now I feel like I can track where I am and when I should be ready to bd :)

I have the clearblue ov kit, so I will be starting that next week, and I also have ordered the basal body thermometer, as I want to get used to using that, I don't want to be spending money each month on Ovulation kits, and I can't track with CM, as I don't really have any... tmi I know

I am a bit worried about they length of my cycles, as my last period was at beginning of dec, and from what I just calculated, its like 41 days cycle, but from october to november I had 3 periods...

I have just ordered some AGNUS CACTUS from Amazon, apparantly it is meant to help regulate your periods... we shall see

if anyone knows the answer to this question I would be gratefull.... !

if I have one period, and then 2 weeks later I have another, and then another, do I still release an egg inbetween each period ? Just a bit confused as I had the 3 period in like 6 weeks... how am I ever going to track when Im gonna release an egg !

Thanks Lisa xx

Hello

From what you say, your periods are all over the place! Opk's are expensive and best to use when you have a regular cycle (unless u can afford to use one every day!).

My advice would be to visit your doctor to check what is causing these irregular periods.

Good luck x x

thanks for that ...

I shall see how I go on with the bbt and tracking etc

I had erratic cycles (21 to 44 days, tho the GP thinks the 44 day was a possible chemical), but we didn't know what to do, either -- she felt the ovulation kits were a waste of money, so we charted (on an index card!). Ultimately, we did see a fertility specialist, who recommended that we dtd from day 7 to day 30 and I did get pregnant around day 9/10 last June (and am on the countdown to baby next month). Incidentially, I was 43 when I concieved, so try not to worry too much yet!

I would go to the doctors and make sure that everything is okay in terms of possible PCOS, esp. thyroid, iron, blood levels, etc., before you start worrying too much about your cycles/fertility -- in my case, it was PCOS and thyroid that were causing problems and once they were finally resolved, I got pregnant naturally (we were about to start first cycle of IVF, which is how they discovered thyroid....)

best wishes

Well I got my ovpk out today, would be good to know if it helps....

I shall see what day my smiley face comes !

Just wondering if you get the smiley face on the day of ovulation or the fertile days prior with the clearblue ov test?

Im on cd 21, and it says my forecasted fertile days are 21, 21 & 23, and my forecasted ov day is 24.

Hi! The general rule is that you will OV anywhere from 12-48 hours after your positive OPK...36 hours being the average.

Please keep in mind, for the first few cycles, you might want to temp and use OPKs, as temping tells you when you OV, after the fact. It will not show you when you are getting ready to OV, like an OPK will. Once you get used to your cycles, you can probably drop the OPKs.

Vitex, AC, can take about 3 cycles to regulate you, so if you don't have success the first cycle or two, keep going. Like any other supplement, there is no guarantee how you will react to it, so if your cycle seems totally amiss while you are taking it, trust your gut and stop.

Good luck!:flower:

Thanks for that ! I have been doing my temps... but they are a bit confusing ... see if you know what I mean ...

Checking CM also, its creamy at the moment, cervix high.

Lisa, that link takes me to my chart, lol.

well thats no good then !

I don't know how to do it then :/

Must say I am well peed off with the temperature thing I have, as it doesn't keep the last temperature read on it... so if I forget what it was, I can't turn it back on and it will be there.

Well, I wouldn't recommend changing BBTs mid-cycle, but you could just write in down, for now.

Just done my ov test, still no smiley face.. on ff it said, today would be my forecasted ovulation date :(

Lisa

still no smiley face on my ov test, it's cd25 now...

I would recommend the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility. Somewhere in there it says that it doesn't matter if you have irregular cycles, it's about knowing what's normal for you. You do need to chart for a while to be able to work out what your pattern is.

For example, I don't ever get a 'dry' day after my period or after ovulation which is supposed to be the norm. However I have learnt what's normal for me.

I'm in the UK and I was lucky enough to find an NHS family planning clinic that had an expert there to teach Natural Family Planning. See what help is out there for you.

You could always go the high tech way. I got a Cyclotest. It's not a cheap option but learns your cycles and clearly shows when you're fertile or infertile. I used it alongside my charts at first but I must admit I did revert back to my paper charts and a normal BBT.
