So the opportunity has come up for me to go part time at work. I'm currently working 25 hours per week on a temp basis but I've only ever worked full-time and not sure what to do.

My babies are nearly 16 months now and even with the 25 hours, I feel that I spend alot of time away from them as the travel time goes on top of it.

Anyway, I have the opportunity to reduce my hours even further to 18.5. However I'm really worried
about what I would do everyday!!

Im used to working hard and find it hard to fill my days off with the babies. As there's two of them,
they're quite a handful and I can't go swimming etc on my own with them. Even the swing park is hard work!!

Anyway, if you stay at home all day with your kiddies, how do you fill your days?

I love my babies but I'm scared I would get bored at home!!

Hey hun, im a first time mummy - like yourself i used to work FT too (40 hours a week) but since having my LO i havent looked back or nor do i miss work.

I keep busy by entertaining LO, going for walks, socialise with friends, i keep pushing myself to go baby clubs, go shopping (even if its window shopping), i read to LO or watch baby channels with her etc.

When its summer, i guess we'll go to the park, have picnics and bring her swimming x

Hi.... first of all, I bet you won't regret doing less time at work!

I went back FT when LO was 13 months old, 42 hours a week. But from last week I have now become a fulltime mummy to my 28 month old. I know I am very lucky for this opportunity but I also know it won't be like when I was on maternity leave when I sat in cafe's, bf and drank tea!!!

This week we have been to a soft play centre, which I will be going to atleast 2-3 times a wekk because they are fab!!!... We've fed the ducks at the local pond and been for a walk in the local forest!

We are very lucky that we live in the touristy countryside place so there are lots of walks and parks such as butterfly palace and petting farms.

My friend has 18 month old twins and a 3 yrs old. She spends a lot of time on the local playing field where there's an enclosed astorturf football pitch which isn't used during the day. She takes a cuppa with her and lets the 3 boys run around on there for ann hour to tire them our lol. Sometimes she'll take their trikes x

Lots of groups and classes as well as just getting out the house. Only way I keep sane lol

The only thing about groups, classes, soft play areas is that it generally takes 2 pairs of hands because if I take my eye off one of them for a second, your guaranteed they'll be lying on a big screaming heap having fallen over lol

I stay at home full time... I REALLY wish I had time to get bored!!! lol.. I'm not sure what it is that I do, but I get back from the school run, and potter around putting kids things away, doing breakfast dishes, hoovering and things like that... and the next thing I know, it's time to go and pick them up again!! Then I have to sit them all down and persuade them to do their homework, and keep on their backs until it's finished.. just in time to go and sort dinner out, before bathing the baby and getting her up to bed.. which leaves just enough time to wrestle the 12 year old into the shower (he thinks he's allergic to water :haha:) and get the other 2 in the bath and dressed for bed. Then sit them down to watch half an hour or so of TV while I clean up the kitchen from dinner, before getting them into bed... THEN i finally get to sit down at about 8.30, and am ready for bed myself very shortly after!!

Im a stay at home mum with my son who is 2 in march and our new son of 8weeks. Its very hard work but I always plan things for the week, such as play dates at mine for LO's, we use our local centre a lot as they do lots of activities, go to the park, spend one day up OH's mums and also we do a lot of drawing, making things abd baking stuff now hes that bit older. The week I have planned this week is playdate tomorrow, the centre for a group called sensory tots on thurs and then he goes nursery for an hour fri morning whilst I take the younger one to baby massage. Some afternoons we also have a movie afternoon (I manily end up watching the film not him lol). But I hope this gives you a few ideas on things you can do

I can imagine lol. It does get easier as they get older honestly. In the meantime classes like dancing etc where there's a bit less risk of them falling over and getting hurt. Local libraries often have story time for tots as well
