My mother asked me if I needed any shopping for the baby and I asked her to buy me a sterilizer and a breast pump (from the Chicco catalog) but as she turns out to be a complete weirdo (anti breast feeding) she refused and she told me I can borrow a sterilizer from her colleague.

Any bitter feeling aside, I don't want to borrow a sterilizer, I want my own.

So I'm thinking of this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-AVENT-SCF281-Microwave-Steriliser/dp/B003P9WSVC/ref=pd_sim_by_16 the Philips AVENT SCF281/02 Microwave Steriliser.
Anyone has this one? Any complains? I like the fact I can have it in my microwave and it will take no space at all, plus it is so cheap!

Thanks in advance!

i have the microwave one and used it once - as we were given the electric one as a gift - i did like it tho - its so handy and quick :)

Yes I read all the reviews now, 2-6 min sterilizing tops! And if kept closed it keeps the bottles sterilized for 24h!

Thanks Dahlia!

I have those MAM bottles that you can put in the microwave to sterilize as well as a steam sterilizer. Just thought I'd add that it's a good idea to have a packet of Milton sterilizing tablets or the Tommee Tippee soloution incase of power cuts. I haven't had to use these yet and hope not to but I have them incase the power goes out as my cooker is also electric so that would leave me with lighting the camping stove and boiling water to sterilize on that lol! :winkwink:

I have the Tomee Tipee microwave one and I find it good. Only takes 8mins.

Xx

oh and mine still gets used - as we got the other one - we left that one at MIL house so when we r there we can use that - its so handy :)

I have this avent one as well as a tommee tippee table top steriliser. I use the avent one for when we are staying over with family. It's super quick and to be honest, it's better than the table top one I have .. Only in my opinion though :)

I will look at the tommee tippee too, thanks for the suggestions!

I have the avent microwave steriliser, had no problems with it! Whack my bottles/teats/bits in and stick in the microwave for 5 mins!

I have that it's really good I have 6 Avent bottles for it but was using tt at first and it fit them fine too. It takes 6 mins in my 800w microwave think microwave needs to be 1000w for if to take a couple of mins

I have it and it works really well plus you can store it in the microwave when not using so it doesn't take up counter space. I can fit 3 nuk bottles standing up in the middle but they are the tall bottles (it can fit more of the shorter bottles like avent or tommie tippie). I like it because it only takes 6 minutes.

I have a similar one and it's great! Although now we use cold water sterilising, so much easier. Just two tablets in water and everything is sterilised in 15 minutes, lasts for 24 hours!

My microwave is also 800w:winkwink:

yes the thing that really is attractive is that it can stay inside the oven the whole day, not take space on the counter!

I've heard many people rave about the tablets, I could buy a few of those too I guess , they could come in handy if we are visiting my grandmother. What brand do you use?

I use this Avent steriliser, it is really quick and not too big. I just put the bottles teats etc in and set it off 6 mins later its all done, I have 6 bottles - 2 4oz Avent naturals, 2 4oz Avent air flex durable bottles and 2 9oz Avent air flex durable bottles which fit nicely. Really easy to keep clean as well.

Check it fits in your microwave if you go for the Avent one - it didn't fit in our new microwave without the turntable removed and it was such a tight fit that considering the temperature it got to in there - removing it was quite a risky thing... we ended up with a cold water milton steriliser and it's worked much better for us.

^ OMG your nick name is genius! bambino => Bum Bean o! Thanks for the info!

Yes I will check the size! What is the diameter?
