I am so envious reading about everyone feeling their babies kicking. I am 21 weeks and have still not felt anything. I have the odd funny feeling below my belly button but not convinced it's baby, and it's definitely not kicking.

I have my 20 week scan tomorrow when I'll be 21+2 so I guess we'll know if there's a problem, but just hoping someone could reassure me it might be ok! Thanks xx

Where your placenta lays is a big factor. If it is against your back (like mine) you'll feel everything.
If it is around the front of your belly it will buffer the baby's movements. Ask them tomorrow where it's laying, they can tell via the ultrasound :)

Good luck and keep us posted!

Try not to worry honey, people experience things at different times and like someone else said it does depend how the baby is lying. I only felt really strong movements and kicks at 20 weeks. Everyone is different. Im sure everything is fine. Let us know how you get on tomorrow and good luck and enjoy it!!

I didn't feel any of my 3 boys until 21 weeks or so... and they are all healthy and normal.. Like Choas said... where your placenta is located can play a big part.. if it is in the front.. baby has to kick through it before you will feel it... so it will take baby being bigger before you feel the kicks... try not to worry I am sure baby is just fine.. :hugs:

Yes, hun, don't worry, Chaos is right, and Dr/MW will let you know when it is time to be worried. Some people feel very little, or not much until much later on when baby is big. I bet you will feel much better after your scan.

I'm at about the same stage as you and I've only just started feeling baby kick, like in the last two or three days. I never felt any gentle flutters like I've read other people describing, baby went straight to kicking and punching I think! My placenta is at the front so I think flutters are just too subtle to get through. I'm sure your baby will be beating you up from the inside plenty soon enough!

Thanks ladies - you're all lovely. Excited and nervous in equal measures about scan tomorrow. At my gender scan they did say I had an anterior placenta so what you are all saying seems right. Thanks for the reassurance :hugs:

dont worry and keep us posted xxxxxxxx

Since you have an anterior placenta try not to worry! I have an anterior one too and I'm quite small, but I didn't feel any kicks till about 23 weeks. When you feel your first kick that you know is bubs and not gas, it will be so exciting! I found that laying flat on my back is when I feel bubs the most. Good luck at your scan!!!

I was the same with Sam - I still hadn't felt anything by my 20 week scan and was so worried I bought a doppler as I was sure there was something wrong. His heartbeat was perfect, and it turned out I had an anterior placenta which was cushioning the kicks at the front so I couldn't feel them at first. He more than made up for it later on though

Good luck with your scan tomorrow - I have mine tomorrow too :D x

With Bethanie I didn't feel any flutters until at least 18-20 weeks and even then I wasn't sure if it was the baby or wind. I didn't feel anything I was sure of for weeks after that! This time I thought I felt something early on (still not 100% though).. then I felt nothing for AGES and was worrying, until just 2 days ago when I started to feel actual little kicks. Please don't worry as already said, the position of your placenta could be why!

The movements are really slight in the earlier weeks and can be missed. Try to not worry! Keep us posted.

Good luck with your scan today! :)

I'm being battered at bed time already, while it's reassuring, in so many ways I wish I had a few more weeks peace. my eldest started to be felt about 16 weeks but my mum didn't feel me till almost 25 weeks. I guess we really are all different.

Ah, you're all so lovely ladies - sorry for not updating sooner! Well, had my scan and baby was moving around loads, and everything is fine so I was worried for nothing! :happydance: Placenta is still in front so that's why I haven't felt much - although since the scan I've felt a few more fluttery bubble things so maybe it's going to start!

Thanks again for your messages xx
