To you guys that don't know me (haven't been on since November I think?), hi! I'm Miriah, 20 years old with an 18 month old and 19 weeks pregnant with my second!

Anyway, with my daughter, I didn't want to know the gender until I have birth, but this time around I was hoping to find out the gender so that I can be more prepared with clothes and whatnot. I had my first ultrasound a few days ago, and was hoping to find out the gender..

But the doctor that was looking at the ultrasounds doesn't do gender guesses until 30 weeks!! Like what? Everyone I know have found out the gender as early as 16 weeks and I know 20 weeks is the norm to find out.

My insurance only covers one ultrasound so I guess I'm stuck with being team yellow again or shelling out almost $200 to go and have it done somewhere else

This is very hard but I am sure if maybe you found a different doctor or something maybe get a second opinion then you might get one earlier. I only get one as well but mine was at 20 weeks and I have always found out what I am having. That is really all I can tell you as I also wanted to have another but can't afford to shell out the 200 dollars either which in my opinion is just the worst thing that could happen to me because I won't have the same amount of wonderful keepsakes. Hope this helps!

There are places around my area that do gender scans for like $100 if you really want to.know! Sorry your doctor is stupid

That's no good, hon Sorry to hear about your poopy doctor and that it costs so much for a scan! I've had to switch doctors a couple of times due to them being stupid! I agree with the other girls and have a look around. I have to pay for all my scans too, so I know how upsetting it is

Well, looks like I'll be getting another on Thursday! Apparently on my u/s they couldn't see the bottom of my placenta so the doctor thinks I might have placenta previa a whole other issue to deal with but on the bright side *hopefully* I will be able to get the doctor (it will be a different building so different doctor!) to sneak a potty shot in there !

Ultrasounds are ridiculously expensive, it's stupid D: Canada (OHIP) insurance only covers 2. So if I wanted another one it would be about $200 as well -.-
